Steam extracted cannabis no Solvents Colorado get out of here

This company in seattle makes some of the cleanest and best tasting hash in the world. They use steam only, no solvents and I have really never smoked or tasted anything like it. I took a hit yesterday at the dab bar and the smoke literally tastes like caramel and brown sugar, and maybe a hint of molasses. It was tasting dark and sweet and all they did was run steam through a plant to collect 96% thc per gram in the end product and amazing flavors.

I was mind blown so if you guys ever come across some clear extracts and have the chance to get a dab of some you wont be disappointed.

Orb of the concentrate cannabinoids^

I am happy to say Washington States extracts beat the shit out of Colorado any day, not that colorado doesn't have good oil.

No joke this stuff tastes like candy, every time I smoke it. I had some other stuff that taste like tangerine jolly ranchers lol very citrus and sweet.

sorta confused, considering THC and most CBDs are not water soluble so I cant really see how steam extraction could work without being at such a heat and pressure that the active ingredients would vaporize or otherwise be activated/destroyed.

ive heard of steam extraction for medical purposes, but the whole point of steam extraction in these cases is to NOT get any THC out of the plant, and only take the essential oils.

anyways I'd love some technical reasoning if you can provide it

I think they have to heat it high enough and mess with the pressures for the thc to start evaporating then they collect it some how I am no expert its something new to me. It is for sure being done they distill the oil 5 times or something crazy. It tastes way different than anything I have smoked, its smooth as can bee and very tasty. Its lab tested for quality as well so their is no solvent left behind in the product. Its very clean.

I am unsure if they actually use steam, because I could see buds having thc evaporate in to a vesel to collect thc. The company that makes it is kind of crowning it as their way of making hash so they don't talk too much about how they make it. For years xtracted labs have been making some of the best oil I have seen.

Post the companies name so we can look into it more you idiot.

read his post. he did, the company is called xtracted labs.

they dont give too much technical explanation though.

OP have you tried many other solvent based extracts? the taste you are describing sounds pretty similar to basically all the oils ive tried. if purged properly, the solvent should be basically entirely gone. the sweet flavors are basically what all oils taste like IMO

also 96% THC is a pretty outrageous number, the strongest other oils i have heard of are in the 80s and so damn strong theyre unusable for most people. and you said 96% per gram... which doesnt make sense as percentages are otherwise unitless. (in this case it would be mass/mass, units always cancel for percentages)( 96% per g implies that concentration decreases with mass ie: 2 grams would be 48%, 3 grams would make 32% etc. ) you know what i mean?

96% per g does not imply that the concentration decreases with mass.

If I have one gram of oil (assuming this is a weight %), then I have .96 g of THC. If I have two grams of oil, then I have 1.92 g THC, 1.92g/2g=.96 or 96% THC.

Yeah I have tried too many extracts, I have probably smoked a half pound of oil in my time. Over the summer a friend of mine purchased a CO2 extractor. Trust me when you open the containers for these oils they are filled with a pungent sweet nectar smell its crazy loud smelling.

If you go there you can find the test results. there are 13.9% terpenes present in this oil, thats the steam distilled stuff.
http://analytical360.com/m/concentrates/292548

This is regular bho, its 8.6% terpenes.

I know that regular bho can taste amazing but the distilled oils are incredibly tasty. Its literally like smoking candy no joke and it taste amazing every time.

Those guys run tests on rec bud for the state so they are fairly accurate.

The terpenes are what cause the flavors and the distilled concentrates have quite a bit more terpenes and thc than regular bho

So I'm sitting at work, procrastinating my End of Well report, and here I am sitting on Newschoolers reading about hash extraction.

Great.

think about this purely in dimensions. a percentage is an expression of some unit divided by a larger value of the same unit. think of on a test you get 76 marks out of 100 marks, its 76%.

what you said in your last sentence, you are describing a regular percentage, given in mg/g it would be 960mg/g (which is typically how concentrations are expressed, or as a regular percentage).

% per gram is technically (g/g)/g ... which is just a nonsense unit but its no big deal.

I see what you're saying now. Yeah that's a really fucking stupid (and incorrect) way of saying 96% concentration.

What's the address?

If you have a medical card, I know the have a heart dab bar in the U district has dabs of them, its like $8 for a dab but your stoned for your moneys worth thats for sure. Its probably like smoking two good joints to your self. I was stoned for a while yesterday after a dab and skipped out on getting meds. I had tried some before and it was good but it was a while back and decided why not try it again and I was impressed at how good and clean it tastes.

Not sure if this is relative to the topic but

I was on YouTube And somehow got to how to make weed ramen, you have to cook it on very low heat so it's not vaporized and the thc gets absorbed into the water and other ingredients. At the end you can filter out the weed at the end because the thc has been absorbed

Thats not that much, the Live Resin here in denver tests above 20% terpenes

i dont like extracts, quite honestly smoking weed isn't supposed to be getting as fucked up as possible, that doesn't even make sense. Extracts killed a lot of my buddies, and my anxiety, they're expensive as fuck and make me forget things like crazy.

dab pieces are dumb expensive, super small, and annoying to use or clean.

I dont get it

Extracts KILLED your friends. Right.

This whole thread is priceless. I've been dying laughing at all the people discussing the science behind it and using fancy words and then the people trolling them like Huck Norris, thanks for the laughs guys!

sounds cool if you like smoking essential oils

haha yeah but the thing is they can control what they want to get out the plant using these methods. If they want high thc they can make extracts with 96% thc with a mix of essential oils. They can basically pinpoint how to extract certain oils from the plant and control the levels of cannabinoids in the distillation process.

So if a patient needs high cbd medicine and lots of essential oils they can distill the concentrates and make them more concentrated however they prefer, high thc, high cbd, or a high terpene count. Thats what is cool about steam, and co2 extractions. I don't think co2 can concentrate the oils as much though.

seems to me like most of this is just over your head :o

take that

Extract CBD at the comfort of your own home as expected, each comes with their own advantages and disadvantages. The most technically demanding extraction method, chances are that they know what they are doing CBD products from reputable sources

holy shitttttt. I dont usually fuck with extracts but holy shit I think that fucking crystal ball they got there would change my mind
