Stealing skis or board at the hill

I went snowboarding w/ my cousin one time and his board got stolen just before we left. The funny thing was that his board was in between two really nice ones
 
A couple of weeks ago, in one night like 5 boards were stoled, that's anther reason i don't like going at night.
 
I was at the end of the year pondskimming thing at my hill and I put my skis on a table inside, near the bar, with all these people around who know that they are my skis, and I went into the bathroom to put dry clothes on. When I came out, they were gone. So I just started running outside and looking around, and I see one of my friends and she says, "oh i just saw someone with skis like yours" I was like, what the hell...you know they're mine. She pointed to the car they were getting into and i took off to my car and drove off after them. They turned around right before the exit and headed back to the parking lot and I followed them, still trying to catch up. They finally pulled over and laid my skis in the parking lot and went to drive off. I yelled, "HEY ASSHOLES!!! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING" And they just didnt say anything and drove off. It was a terrible near death experience
 
thats why i lock my invaders, cause every1 always comments on how nice they look so i make sure they stay with me
 
I always put all my shit in my locker and keep my skis on the rack right next to the lift cause everyone knows me and my skis, so far its worked for me
 
the only thing that is acceptable to steal at mountains is food, and thats because they over price it so much, its unfortunate taht they dont just lower the prices because i (and most other skiers) would be willing to pay a reasonable price for food but i dont care who you are im not paying 3.20$ for a 20 oz gatorade
 
im gunna steal ur skis phil....and wax up the bases peal off all the stickers and write a DR in front of phil and tell everyone is Dr.Phil pro model

stealing skis/board is about as low as you can get, because your stealing from a fellow brother who skis/boards like you, so its basically fucked up.

im parinoid about that shit, so i make sure they are safe
 
I donno if any one would steal my skis. Theyre red 4frnt stls which not many people have seen. with the orange pivot jibs, which are prettty uncommon. And one of the bindings have a fucked up break. theres a grenade sticker across the back, and some rail marks on the bottom. soo theyre quite distinct

my gear is trashed, no one would want it but if someone did steal it, and i found them, yeah i would break my foot off in their ass.
 
I just got a new board and bindings Yaaaaaaaaa. my other board got jacked sun.. tell ur friend to keep trucking and ask around for boards.
 
do the whole splitting up of your skis, that way it's at least a delay

but then you might lose one.. or run into that asshole who would steal one out of spite
 
if i ever caught someone stealing my skis i would tackle the shit out of them and proceed to stomp their face in with my ski boots. well actually i wouldnt want my white spks all bloody so maybe just kick them in the stomach a few times. i engraved my name into my skis so that if anyone ever tried to say they were theirs i could just show them that.
 
i'm gonna be honest, i've jacked rental poles from gaypers. but after the first pair i yanked i just replace their poles with my bent up ones. thanks christy sports, poles are expensive. aside from christy sports poles, i've never taken anything.....its just bad karma. you steal some skis then break your leg riding them.

i've only witnessed one kid jacking skis and i felt like a piece of shit for not stopping him. he was a fucking faggot too. rich as hell and stealing someone elses skis, the first pair of scratches. i was 16 at the time so i was pretty dumb.
 
I'm going to take care of my skis more this season. This whole thread scares me but if anyone for any reason took my skis and i find them I would seriously beat the shit out of them with anything in sight, pole, chair, kick them in the balls with my boot on.

even if its joking around I would do it, that shit is not cool. I'd rather lose everything I own but my skis.
 
he shoulda taken the guys skis and just hid them. dont steal because two wrongs dont make a right and that would make your freind lower than him. but i woulda fucked with the guy a little
 
i have fugatives so there not all that hot compared to like elizabeths or anything... people always steal my poles though, so i just steal some rentals.

Back on the topic of people stealing stuff, we dock our boat in a marina during the summer and I usually will just keep my wakeboard up on the board racks all day in case we decide to head out for a set. (I ride an 06 Liquid Force PS3 with 08 Liquid Force Watson LE boots in case anybody cares. The boat is a 2003 Mastercraft X-2) Anyways, a couple weeks ago I'm driving our golf cart around the marina and see this kid on my boat taking my fucking wakeboard, so I just stop and start talking to him, saying oh, that's a nice board what kind is it blah blah I'm getting into wakeboarding and just asking him questions and stuff and after a few minutes he kinda just sketched out and walked. He did, however, stick around long enough to see me go and get my board off the boat, at which point he must have felt like a total idiot. (At least I hope, haha) I would have been super pissed if I had come down to the boat to find my board missing, but I got lucky. Fucking idiot kids stealing shit. Now I take my wakeboard off the boat after every set no matter what.
 
I always ski with like 4 or 5 other friends so we always have some1 stay back and watch everyone skis when we go for a break. But really sucks for your friend, if anyone stole my skis that i worked and payed for with my own money id prob cry.
 
fucking thieves. somebody stole my Blackberry from out of my jacket pocket at aftergrad. I let everyone know about it, somebody got a tip, gave me the tip, i tracked the fucker down and went to his house armed and when he opened the door...i got my Blackberry back, to say the least...

fuck thieves, if anybody ever stole my skis i would fucking kill them.
 
my neighbour got his new board stolen and we had just made an order together on EC and I felt so bad for him that I tried to get MattyB to cancel his stuff cuz he needed to save up money. It didnt work but it turned out ok. he got a new board and his parents paid for some as a christmas gift
 
this is kinda off the point. But i know some kids that stole ten complete boards froms zumiez and got away with it. i dont know how. but they are pretty dumb for even trying!
 
I left my skis at the bottom of the gondola for a like 6 hours and they didnt get roughed then i left my skis in the snow by the aquatics place. someone stole my poles. later that night at 3am some canadians barge into our room cus they here our french rap. We chilled and they told us about how they stole like 9 pairs of skis that day.

If I caught someone who stole my skis, I'd go predator on their asses. Fucking rip their spines out. At least that's the way I'd want it to go down. If it actually happened, I'd probably just curl up into the fetal position and just cry myself into a coma.
 
k so some advice with locks.

please dont buy those shitty retractable RC locks.

they are plastic and are piles of shit.

Its the easiest thing to break them.

all you have to do it undo one screw and its done. or use a rock.

either way, its easy as shit.

Do invest is a quality combination lock that at least isnt plastic

and has a higher gauge wire.

that $30 lock will save you hundreds.

 
Another dirty trick is someone screws with you DINS while your inside. I think thats worse than getting your skis stolen cuz you have a big chance of releasing and hurting yourself bad and be out for a season.
 
if you know them, turn them in to the police. seriously, that shit isn't cool. there's a reason stealing is against the law.
 
One of my friends got his skis stolen. I would be so pissed it somebody took my stuff I wouldn't know what to do.
 
One time my dad went skiing with some of his buddies, and they got dropped off with their skis and shit and one guy drove the car to find a parking space. and while they were waiting, some guy in full gear just grabbed a pair of skis and poles, and peaced.

Stealing skis is like clubbing seals.

ok im deffinently getting two ski locks when i get my new skis this year. i would get 2 because my friend and i always split our skis then put 1 of each together and put them far away from each other now im locking them up to. i really dont want my skis that i worked all summer for to get stollen.
 
Yeah, if someone stole my skis and I caught them there would be severe consequences... someone stole my poles once, didn't make any sense, they were such shitty poles. Like ten years old, all bent and dented and scratched up... but I went no poles and finally learned tail grabs which I'd been failing hard on all day so I guess it worked out.
 
Someone stole my silencer poles when i was at a comp up north... it was probably a boarder who was upset that i won the snowboard haha... oh well i came out like $300 ahead
 
Im not gona lie sometimes i use a ski lock. All my friends make fun of me cause i use it but it payed off because this past march we go inside to eat and we come back out and one of friends skis got stolen. They tried to take mine but they couldnt cause they were locked it messed up the bindinga little but better then getting stolen
 
thats why i always seperate my skis. i put one on one rack and the other one far away on another. noone wants to go throught the trouble of finding the pair so it works out.
 
haha so one time my friend got a concussion and he wanted me to go grab his board..ofcourse i took the wrong one and this dude comes running towards me hey theifgive me my board back!! and immediately i knew i made a mistake but wasnt sure if he was just fucking w me bc i had ski boots on and a snowboard in hand so i was liike "wait i think this is my friends board" and hes like give me my fucking board and im like ooo damn dude im so sorry gave it to him and walked away
 
That's shitty. I've never had my skis stolen, but my friend Justin got his skis stolen from our school during ski P.E. and my friend Kolby got his stolen last summer in Whistler. It's a bummer, such a mean thing for one skier to do to another.
 
the same thing happened to my dad. He had these 1000 dollar carving skis, and just threw them on the rack because he had to make a phone call inside. The call took longer than he expected, and when he makes it outside, they're gone. He hadn't even taken a run yet, after a 2 hours drive to the hill. Needless to say, he bought a ski key. but for me, the second my skis het more than $600, i lock them up whenever i leave them, i'm not taking any chances.
