Staying overnight in Heavenly Gondola

That article has a paywall BTW, maybe you can copy pasta?

I dont understand how this could ever happen without the person sneaking onto the gondola. when a lift is closed, lifties send up a sign on the last lift/car and after that reaches the top, they shut the lift down. Maybe the article has more details tho.

That was pretty shitty on lifties part. She checked in with the gondola operator at the top to go back down.

Then stopped the lift and walked away. They should have radioed and alerted everyone to her being in a cabin. I hope she had weed; looking at the dreadlocks… I think she had enough for the night.

Wolves can’t eat you if you stay in the gondola and don’t jump ?

I can see this becoming one of those stupid trends that people try to have this happen to them either for the clout, money, and/or adventure

Or if it's going to be a crazy good pow day bring some snacks and a pocket of hand warmers and get stuck on the uphill side.

https://vtskiandride.com/stuck-in-a-killington-gondola/

^this article says that a woman was stuck in a Killington gondola in 2016 and got a huge $750000 payout. She was only stuck for like 5 hours from 3:30 to 8:30 and not overnight. if that is any precedent then Heavenly is going to have to pay $$

i imagine bail will try to settle with a cease and desist clause so the amount is never disclosed to prevent future lawsuits.

this happened at breck once but it was 5p on a summers afternoon. the guy was up there for 1.5 hours before they got him out so not too bad. the liftie got fired immediately i think. probably no suit or settlement for that one

Paywall didn’t stop me from viewing.

that’s nuts. Always have back up snacks in your pockets. I always have a spare uncrustable, so pack of jerky and some chocolate. Wouldn’t be much but it would make the night bearable.

^check it out, this story documents people spending 15 hours overnight at Big Sky MT and the story goes on to say that the area had stranded others in previous incidents

"Two West Yellowstone women stranded last winter for more than 16 hours on a Big Sky Ski Resort chairlift are now suing the resort's parent company for endangering lives.

The women, Heather Turner and Melissa Buller, sang songs, renamed surrounding peaks and shadow boxed during the night of Feb. 24, 1999, forced to spend the night on the resort's Southern Comfort chairlift after ski area workers shut it down prematurely."

was the dude yelling from the gondola?

im no lawyer... but believe Vail and other entities use Non Disclosure Agreements to protect their evil,

backcountry owner jim holland used cease and desist orders to hijack and close peoples businesses after he trademarked the word backcountry...
