Starting a Company

Hey, i'm trying to start a clothing company called Anthem, and if anybody has advice for me or knows a clothing manufacturer let me know.

i have a couple of friends who have atarted companies, the best way is to get creative and do it yourslef...go to a local printing shop and see if theey have any old screens and learn how to screen your own shirs

 
hmmm, my advice is to not even bother.

i dont want to be negative, and bring you down, but you jumped on an already overflowing bandwagon. you won't have a market, i can tell you that much. do you have any businsee expirience? im guessing that youre in highschool, and have no business expirience what so ever. id suggest finding a need and fixing it. necessity is the mother of invention, and what we dont need right now are more generic skiing clothing brands.

ill put it this way... i always wanted a skiing film company, but htere are so many out there, and anyone who is selling anything already has all the decent riders, and i'm switching towards a differant focus with my production company. i want things that will make money, not because im a sellout loser, but so i can get the funding and money for equipment so that i can eventually have a chance shooting independant films, and maybe even ski videos.

make something other than clothes, find a need and fill it. then make clothes for your company that makes somethng else, kinda how rossignol and line do it. their clothes make money because of their products, not letting their clothes be the only thing they sell.

exactly. take me for example. I was frustrated with how difficult it was to obtain weapons of mass destruction in north america, so I started a company. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to get plutonium around here and people will always need WMD. find you niche and fill it.

there are way to many 'companies'. the market has been thoroughly saturated. unless you have real connections in the ski industry, drop the idea now.

The things I did was

Get an EIN from IRS.gov

Register with the Sec of State as a company or corp. (I did LLC), and open a checking account. That way you are in good standings with the government. That is the fist thing you need to do.

my whole idea behind this is to break away from the mold. the niche i am gonna try and fill is one fo uniqeness. every where you see clothes, they look close to the same. i wanna come out with new styles, looks, and just overall be different. i know it will be hard, but that is my goal. and even if it doesn't work out, at least i will have gone for it and had fun. thanks for the valuable advice.
