Standing Switch!

hey is there anyone here who could help me to stand switch. I see that most of those who do have one ski slightly further back than the other. every time I try it I'm going out of balance and the rear ski wobbles really fast and I lose control. would be nice if anyone had any tips thanks :)

You could try standing the opposite way of the normal way of skiing switch. That's what I do....I could do it the right way. I don't know why :(

Yeah i have tried that and it worked better, but when i'm going to spin off the jump it gets blind and that's very scary...

Hmmm you shouldn't be completely blind....well at least I'm not. I can still see fairly good. Good enough to see the lip of the ramp and know when to spin

Try keeping your weight over your feet a little more. When some poeple ski switch, they tend to shift their weight back towards their tails or forward towards their noses, losing balance. Try to stay as centered as possible. It'll feel weird for awhile but you'll get used to it.

The reason for the lead foot is to rotate your body a bit so you can look over your shoulder. If im straightlining switch, i usually lead with my left foot and look over my left shoulder.

just practice riding switch a lot. and as far as having one ski further back, staggering your skis when turning left/right is quite useful

word. i look over the shoulder in the direction i spin. I spin left, so i ski switch looking over my left shoulder. Messing around on the groomers, i work to look over each shoulder evenly when turning. Turn left, look left, turning right, look right.

Practice is the only way to really dial it in. Hit up some rolling groomers and do lots of 180s over them in both directions. I can pretty much ski switch as fast as i ski forward.

While were on the subject, could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I'll stagger my stance and begin a turn, but then I just completely wash out back to forward, and can't turn back the other way.

Is it because I'm leaning to far forward/skis mounted too far back?

I can stagger my stance fine, but whenever I try to rotate any part of my body with it, other than my head, I always end up turning, catching an edge, or just losing my balance.

commit to each turn and lean over your outside ski more, try getting your skis on edge more as well
