Im looking into either getting a standard def sony vx2000/2100 , or for a much pricier option, the sony hdr fx7 which is 1080i HD. Is it worth it for me to spend almost $1000 more on the HD then the SD? I know all video is going HD, but i am not a professional. Just would like some input. Thanks.
If you have any other suggestions on different camcorders let me know as well. Thanks

what are you planning on filming? what kind of computer do you have? more info would lead to better help. If you have a shitty computer editing HD footage would be uber slow, and if you are filming something other than skating then nether of the VX's would be your best choice.

sorry for the lack of info. but i am editing on an 09 macbook pro, and i have final cut express. But i am looking into a promsumer camcorder.. which means i do not want a compact hd camcorder. this is where i dont know what to do. You say the vx is not good for anything but skating? what about skiing/short films. I am looking into the fx7 for sony prosumer or canon xha1 hd. I am going to school for digital cinema.. so i know everything is going to hd. thanks for the help.
