St Mary’s glacier park?

Would anyone in the colorado area be down to take a day trip to hike up st marys with some pvc and leave it there for a summer rail setup? Because think about it the hike will be a pain in the ass especially considering that you’d be carrying some awkwardly shaped/heavy/long pieces of plastic up a mountain trail, but when you take into consideration that the tubes will be left up there for a long time afterwards would it be worth it? Imagine having a summer park with some pvc tubes with the bros on a hot ass day in July. Just sayin, to me it sounds worth it

Is the hike super hard? If so Would you wanna do it every time?

The hike is about 1 and a half miles, but if you’re talking about bringing pvc up and down with each hike I wouldn’t say it’s worth it personally

Ooh umm you won't like it but Avon like Vail I'm just building a set up rn in my backyard

Oh hell yeah Avon I have some buds in the eagle/Avon area, what type of backyard setup are you building

Astro turf pvc I actually built it last summer but it was WAY to big so I'm remodeling it

That’s what’s up, I have a friend over in Avon who says he has a box rail in his setup but he’s not down to sell I’ve tried to get it from him

I just wanna know where to hike pre season with snow in CO. I lived in slc for a bit and there were so many preseason spots in October or whatever we'd hike

Loveland pass is the way to go there’s a hike park down there and there’s still some snow up there if I’m not mistaken it’s a pretty sick area honestly

i don’t live in colorado but i’d totally do that. but tbh the hike isn’t long buts it’s full of giant rocks and shit from what i remember and carrying 10 foot things up would really suck

I was up there on Thursday and the bottom park is pretty much melted out, but the top area still has a good amount of snow just no features moved up there yet.

You wanna head up next Thursday I get out of quarantine on Wednesday

Don't leave shit in the snowfield. Colorado has enough dumb fucks leaving trash everywhere. Every time I camp I'm able to fill a garbage bag with shit people leave. PVC breaks down in the sun, the wood rots, and the screws rust. I guarantee you won't go back and pick it up when that happens so just don't do it. If you want to go slide around on PVC rails then go to loveland pass.

Ok

St Mary's is a super duper easy hike. It would not be that much of an ordeal to pack in/pack out a pvc pipe.

People already do make summer setups. They pack em out at the end of the day.

You think you're gonna go up enough times to justify leaving it there? You haven't even taken a plain clothes hike to scope it out.

Tbh, leaving it there would be such a lazy asshole thing to do. Like, the hike is so short... littering it like that would be completely asinine.

You're not talking about "making a cool session spot for everyone". You're talking about dumping a big piece of trash on a popular trail in a state park.

There's people everywhere. Someone would report you so quick. You'd get the maximum fine.

It's a very expensive ticket versus you and a buddy going out and just trading off carrying the thing for like the little 20 minute hike out there.

There is a 0% chance that op returns to clean his shit up.

If I see his dipshit setup on one of those bi-weekly 9 news stories where they beg people to stop trashing our parks... ? Lawrd have mercy.

It's like a 1 mile stroll on a well developed trail that gets thousands of visitors a day during the summer.

It would be such an inappropriate and disrespectful place to dump your eyesore. A ranger would have to clean it up within a day or two!

Just session it for a day and carry it out. Geeze.

So moral of the story someones gotta show me the Loveland pass set up this fall

Yeah gladly, it usually takes 1 or 2 snowfalls to get one good enough rail setup and when that happens I’ll shoot you a text through ns letting you know all about it

TRUE! thanks homie

I wouldn't be so quick to assume that about someone that you don't know. It's a fair concern, but OP might be a conscientious guy.

Bruh just go to Loveland. There's a park up on the Pass. And typically they just leave shit there.
