yeah, seriously guys, from what i saw in the trailer, it looks horrible, a cossack and a back scratcher? how about some REAL grabs. but yeah, it could be a good thing, now when people see it they will be like "omg skiing is sooooo gay" then there will be less posers and dumbasses on the hill with twins.

I thought there was no possible way for this game to be as bad as everyone said. But it is. I looks so unrealistic. Every trick in that game is going to be proceeded by the word 'fakie' because it wont be real. Our only hope is that Amped steps up to the plate. Better yet, make Tanner Hall's Undergound. Now that would be sick! The goal og the game would be to make enough money to quit skiing and go to college.

But what if the Hookey Pookey isn't what "it's all about?" Then what?!?!?!?!

people its a trailor. theve probably haven even finnished the engine there making it with that why you dont see flips or spins. EA wont put a crappy game on the market. Sure this game will be fake but itll still be as fun as hell. trust me

so they are going to have real brands. and of course you're going to be able to do spins and flips, they just didnt show it in the trailer. all the other ssx games you could to spins and flips.

and its supposed to come out Q4 of 2005

 
For all of you that haven't played any of the SSX series the game is not only racing, you can also do freestyle competitions, freeride and etc. It is a diffrent type of gamestyle like people said, its definetly an arcade game so you can't expect realistic content out of it. Don't rag on it unless you have played it.

most of what you said had nothing to do with the pic, but yeah ive played ssx and i know its crazy unrealistic. i was just kinda surprised by their crappy attempt at putting a binding on the ski... why did they even bother putting that triangular thing on there

Hey did anyone see the "news" section on Ninthward's website? Are they sponsoring the game?

... I think they oughtta get some real pros and model the characters after them. Skiers would make kick-ass video game characters. Maybe they could get some feedback from them too, and figure out how to uhh... *cough* animate the characters a little better.

 
man when ssx tricky came out i remember thinking what itd be like if they did it with skiing. like having a christ air where you take both your skis off and stick your arms out t the side. if they really did that it would be so funny. but yea, im gonna get the game. gotta help people realize that ppl like skiing games

Its game attempts like that, that make skiing unpopular. As soon as you see a game where skiing actually looks as cool as it does..its going to sell a lot better.

Imagine if the guys who made Amped made a joint skiing and snowboarding game.

It would be awesome if thats in consideration for Amped 3. It would sell a SHITLOAD more games.

has anyone here actually played any SSX game? This is SSX 4 so the whole point of the game is to do super crazy impossible tricks with fireworks in the backround and bright colors everywhere! Of course its a racing game, SSX stands for Super Snowboard cross. The game is half racing, half freestyle. Don't get me wrong, the lack of actual tricks in the trailer totally sucks but im the sure the makers of the game are not completely retarded and will make the skiers do tricks on par with the snowboarders.

ok, this point has been made over and over, even on page one, and JibRemix and Ryno have it right:

its a huge step forwards. sure, its unrealistic, but stop being so anal about what you get. gaming used to be for mostly fantasy playing, things that you will never be able to do and you just think :"how awesome would it be if i could really do this?".

there could be no attempt on the behalf of any production to make a simulation game if this doesn't sell, because it's a big risky move to come out with something that hasn't sold well. if this does, then all the more reason to start a movement for better looking, more realistic games.

we all love jibberish because it looks like the real thing. but stop gripping if there is a big game coming out that isn't as realistic, because thats all you are going to get ever if there isn't any support for it.

stop being anal and support this great decision to make a ski game.

i want a realistic game like thug in the sense that its real people real places real equipment and tricks and whatnot but even thugs gameplay is realy unrealistic but thats alrite if the other stuff is real.
