Allright all you little monkeys...here is the stright dope on SSX on tour.

The producers of the game have actually been on this site and read a bunch of reviews, and have brought Anthony Boronowski into their office in BC and he is working with the animators to make everything look better. They have taken the Kosak out of the game as well as the daffy, and they are currently replacing all those weak grabs with steezed out ones courtesy of Ant. These guys honestly do care and are working hard to make the game right for you. The only other news I have is that new screen shots with the new grabs will be out soon, and that the game will be available before x-mas next year. Also Ninthward does not have their own game coming out. Ninthward, Line, K2, Armada, 4frnt and Dynastar all donated ski graphics to the game, and that is the only way ninthward is invovled, along with the rest of us.

it's fuckin SSX though.....why are they so worried about getting "steezy" grabs? how many snowboarders do you see doing flying squirrels, and flipping their board over their head or 90% of the other shit you can do in SSX? if anything, all that crazy shit should be in there just because it's SSX

Awesome...so another strike against Ninthward. It was my impression that they had a seperate demo ski game from SSX. I'm pretty sure some of their riders confirmed this as well.

maybe they could fix the lame skin tight clothes they are wearing in that game too, SSX, if ur reading this site, go play amped2 and make the game just like that with skiing

 
eliminating tricks = lame

allowing all tricks = cool

scoring them properly = also cool

like when triple twisters were eliminated from moguls for 2003... lame, they should have just scored them differently so that you couldn't win easily with that trick.... they brought it back the following year, but scored differently. too bad it took the morons a year to figure that one out. It's called freestyle for a reason. If it gets thrown, score it!

I don't think anyone ever confirmed there was a seperate ninthward game. The announcement on their site just got repeated and purple monkey dishwashered.

But yay pro rider input.

awsome about getting the grabs and stuff, are they gonna have corks too? and i really think they should leave the daffy and spread eagle in because that shits badass, they just cant emphisize it that much

Eh, if they want daffys and cossacks in the game, I'd think it would be better if they were some sort of unlocked tricks (ie; earn certain score on certain level, unlock old school trick x)

Frankly I can't believe that any ski company would donate their time, effort, and graphics to be associated with a game like SSX. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that the guys in charge at EA have great intentions but you have to look at the SSX franchise. It's basically racing down unrealistic courses and flying 1000ft on mogul kickers. So who cares if you can do a nice looking safety grab?

What I want to see is a game like Amped for skiing. So far it's the best representation of park riding there is. Obviously it's not going to be ultra realistic but at least Amped has some basis in reality, and the have the best notion of what 'style' should be.

Even if the grabs are changed and the trick list is augmented it still doesn't change what the essence of SSX is. If the game looks anything like the previews or any of the past games I wouldn't let my brand near it with a ten foot pole. I'm curious to know why all these ski manufacturers jumped on board - have you guys not seen SSX before???

SSX sold 3 million copies last year. Amped sold a tenth of that...maybe

Amped is great but there were 2 years of SSX before it came out, Video Games like everything else in this world work on supply and demand. Ain't no way were going to get an amped without selling the shit outta SSX first.

I don't know why all you guys hate ssx some of the big mountain levels in ssx 3 have really realistic powder riding and the game is wicked fun

HAVE YOU PLAYED AMPED 2 BEFORE?

After you play that game, it ruins all other games like it, even Tony Hawk and games that arent snowboarding.

Its an amazing game, so far ahead of anything else. They had Chris Gunnerson, the park designer at June Mt. design the courses in Amped 2. You can do a 180 so that it will beworth more points than a 1080, and style is more important that the trick you are doing.

haha..no for real though, ssx is a fun game, but its about as realistic as the chances of finding Jesus selling rock on a corner in Compton

cko is right. If the game is going to blow SSX style, it would be better to not even have it. Who wants to propagate a lame image for our sport, even if it does make money? We know what that's called.

At any rate, I've been told that the game designers were nothing short of embarrassed after the first tests, and are working hard with people who can help them to make it better. We'll see.

they are involving these particular companies because they want to actually develop a more credible and "core" image...i think thats at least a step in the right direction.
