I was reading the new freeze and i came across an article where boyd said that the hardcore locals at squaw are as good as 95 % of pro skiers. i second this. any thoughts?

There are guys at squaw who throw down in the park and on powder days who just go home after the mountain is tracked and who no one has ever heard of. Gafney isn't even sponsored, and he has skied almost every line there including making turns down schmidiots. It's a crazy atmoshpere to be in.

I completely agree, but squaw isn't anything special, its pretty much any good mountain

 
squaw valley is sick, i ski there all the time, i have a low budget tho so i ask someone else to buy me a 5 dollar kids ticket and i always get away with it.

 
squaw is fucking awesome, i hardly ever go there cause i live in L.A. but when i do im always impressed by the locals. isnt skogen from squaw

 
Skogen skis Alpine. And yeah squaw has a sick atmosphere. I ski there and Alpine and thye both are pretty kickass.

This year Alpine's park was up and runnin way ahead of Squaw's, so I haven't been there yet this year, but I will definitely be hittin it up within the next couple weekends at least once. Plus alpine just put in their 600 foot superpipe, so its all gravy.

I can't wait to get up to squaw though, you see some crazy shit going down at the park and stuff at squaw.
