Squaw Spring Pass... $129

I'm sure some of you will be hating, but Squaw has a spring pass this year good starting tomorrow thru the end of the season (Supposedly May 28'th according to squaw website and calendar)

Nothing huge, but the park is very fun right now and as soon as they cut the pipe it will be nice again...

Hopefully the colder temps come back next week

yeah the park was super fun this week, hardly anyone there, probably because everyone is launching at roo.

thanks for the information, I'm definitely getting one since northstar closed so damn early. Care to give me a breakdown on whats in the park? Are they making any snow for the park? I remember riding the superpipe up through closing day last season and it was fun. Last year they had a ton of snow though, even on closing day.

May 28th for sure... even if its just park pipe and a few groomers it'll be open

I heard today was real goo0d... some crazy fuckers did reverse traverse to headwall, then traversed to the saddle and hiked to tthe top of KT and then did nose to fingers... pretty big I must say... and a lot of effort to get it... I hope they filmed (actually it was probably mcconkey and gaffney if I had to guess)

After going there today I don't. The spring pass was a good buy. Does Squaw still issue day tickets when you forget your pass?

I'm still debating on getting this or the Alpine pass... they are soooo tempting... last year I got the alpine pass and it was delightful.. though there was much more snow then...

Trust me on this, get the Squaw. Even closing day last year was a blast, since they did such a good job maintaining the pipe. With all the new snow they're getting they think they can make it to the end of May.

Its a rough decision dude lol. Alpine is awesome, plus if I gett the spring pass, I get to add it to next years season pass.. which I'm pretty sure I'll be getting. There isnt enough of god's mercy on this earth to allow me to afford a squaw season pass... that shit is over 2 grand for full adult unlimited... Alpine doesnt have their pipe though, so that might come into factor... I'm much more interested in halfpipe than slopestyle anyway...

hmm..

A full season adult squaw pass is $1599 which is ridiculous... but it definitely isnt over $2000... not only that but the $129 at squaw is good til the end of may and it goes towards next sesaons pass...

which may be going down in price from what I hear

Somewhere I thought I saw that the 1599 pass was still blocked out by holidays.. but I could be wrong... Either way, I cannot afford a $1600 dollar pass because that is enough to buy at least 3 other passes from the other resorts. and $129 is hardly enough to even make the difference... $1471 is still a shitty price... which is why the alpine one is attractive, because I could afford their season pass as it is...

word... I hear ya... I dont pay for my squaw pass, I wouldnt get one if I had to

On the flip side I wouldnt buy an alpine pass either, since they dont ever check

I can understand that, but I don't really worry about applying the money towards next year. I figure going maybe 9-10 times to squaw for $129 when everywhere else is closed I'm getting a good deal.

will they be going to weekend only operations at some point or will they be open continously untill may 28th?

Yeah.. the problem is that now nobody in the Bay Area is interested in driving for 3 hours to ski on "shitty snow"

I hate living here... I must move closer.

This is a killer deal because Squaw will be the only show in town very soon. Although Alpine is still open, the roo is officially done. By the way, you guys fucking killed it this year on Roo. It was the best jump line in tahoe - yet again. Buck-twenty nine for unlimited riding at the only place still open w/ a park till they close I'm on it. See you there this weekend. Don't know why resorts would remain open if you don't have spring parks. I'd rather skip the mashed potato turns.

they have a superpipe, two kickers next to the pipe, trap box, down-rail, L-box a fun step on-step off, another smaller kicker at hte bottom, more box's, and at riviera (not sure if they're gonna run the chair) they're two really fun 45ft kickers

scratch that the site says only the ford park is open with three jumps and a bunch of rails and shit, no superpipe, or riveria jumps

I want to get this pass, 130 aint bad but I would have to get a place up on the north shore and 400-600 hundo for a month for rent is a little steep, since i still have to pay rent where i am at. I don't want to get locked into a place for a month if they are going to close early. anyway, i e-mailed squaw and this is what the wrote back

?@#&,

Thank you for writing. Squaw Valley schedules its closing date for the

last Monday in May (Memorial Day) each season. However, the actual

closing date is always contingent on weather. This season, Squaw Valley

will stay open through May 6, and at that point management will assess

the weather and conditions to determine the closing date. We stand

strongly behind our spring product and we want skiers and riders to

enjoy it as long as possible. As long as we are open for skiing and

riding, we will be open 7 days a week and not limit operations to the

weekends.

Last week's storm brought us over 2 feet of fresh snow. We hope to see

you at Squaw this spring!

so yea i checked the website today, and only nine lifts are open, including shirley, granite chief, one slow one that services the small terrain park, and the rest are beginner chairs. do you think they will open siberia and the bigger terrain park this weekend?

the big terrain park is open, siberia and the other one are closed but they got the two seater mainline chairlift to get you there.

closing on sunday, but today was nice pow... there issa chance for Sibo this weekend, but I've been lied to before.

My buddy's girlfriend is the head accountant for Squaw and she says they sold less than 100 tickets last sattaday, they are closing due to the amount of money they are losing, too bad Alex passed, he used to keep the mountain open for locals even if they were losing money, he is a true legend in the SKi business industry. And will be missed. RIP
