Squaw Nightlife

We are going to be roadtripping from LA to Seattle and plan to stop at Squaw and Bachelor on the way. Is there any nightlife at Squaw on a Saturday night or would be we better off to stay in South Lake and drive a bit extra in the morning? We are going to stay somewhere Saturday night, ski Sunday and then drive north for a few hours after skiing. Where should we stay for one night that would be fun to get some drinks and kick it? Thanks for the input.

the biltmore, or calneva casinos in incline village (north shore). both are casinos, and both keep it extra classy...there are no 60 yr old cocktail waitresses in mini skirts, seriously none.

but on the real, there is no nightlife anywhere in tahoe unless its on the weekend or during a holiday week. Your better off staying on the north shore if its mid week.

I'd stay in South Lake for the night if I was you. I love the squaw nightlife, but thats just because I work there. South lake has much more going on and affordable hotels. You're going to pay an arm and a leg to stay at squaw for a night.

We will be there this Saturday night, skiing Sunday. At this point, we're almost just considering staying in Reno and driving the hour to Squaw Sunday morning. Or can we stay in South Lake and drive up the west side of the lake (not sure if that road is open during the winter)?

I'd stay in South Lake and make the extra drive in the morning... I live down here and drive up to n* pretty often, its not a long drive and its definitely worth it to have something to do at night. You can get a wicked cheap hotel compared to squaw and there's lots going on in town

As much as I love North lake and Squaw, it isn't the best nightlife scene unless they have an event going on (in which case it's real fun). It's more of an apres ski hangout place in terms of drinking, and very expensive if you don't know the bartenders, and most of the nearby bars (River Ranch, anything in Tahoe City or Truckee) is fun if you want to just drink and hang out with friends, but if you want to party then definitely stay in South lake and keep driving up in the morning. There is a lot more to do in terms of nightlife in South Lake.
