Squaw/alpine merger

I just got a room lined up for Truckee, heading out end of October. I feel like I just hit the lotto. I don't have to make the one decision I thought I was going to have to make. Squaw or Alpine. Good ups!!!
 
So wait... does this mean if you have the alpine-homewood pass... you have a pass to all 3?

...i guess should just be called the route 89 radtacular pass now.
 
if you bought your alpine/homewood pass prior to september 26th they are still going to honor it at alpine/kirkwood/homewood/etc AND SQUAW! If you bought it after though...you are s.o.l. for getting the squaw add on
 
This. I'm so fucking stoked.

More or less because Kirkwood has the best inbounds powder in the tahoe area, alpine meadows with the best out of bounds and homewood with the best feeling, as well with sqauw one of the biggest.

It's sick that when you skin from alpine to sqauw you no longer have to sneak onto the lifts.
 
I'm so glad to see only positive responses about this on NS. everyone on Unofficial Squaw is all butthurt about KSL "ruining" Alpine. They've completely overlooked what everyone here is embracing: the absurd amount of amazing terrain that we'll all get to ski. While the die-hard AM skiers whine and moan about the influx of all the supposed "bros" who plague the landscape of Squaw (who I never see, the place has some of the best vibes of any resort ever), I'll be busy enjoying my ass off having the BEST WINTER EVER!
 
It's not even goin to change jack shit... prices aren't going to skyrocket or anything... they can't afford to in this economic climate...

If you don't like change, go back in time and keep Alec Cushing alive or something... because that's about all you can do to keep the former status quo... which wasnt all THAT different really.
 
i know i'm ridiculously stoked for this even though i'm in south lake, hopefully emerald bay won't be closed all winter
 
Lol. Yeahh noo.. That's guaranteed even on a shitty year to be shut down all the time... and when it's actually open, that means theres NO snow.
