Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton fall 2018-2019

Looking to do a gap year in Whistler this coming fall, would probably have to live in Pemberton or Squamish so rent isn't so bad (would be looking for roommates) anyone have a tips, which palce is the best to be, pros and cons, things to do, whats cheaper and whats not, etc.
 
If you have money for travel I’d say pemb,both have amazing off season biking,I like the slower pace of pemb(less city slickers)

However going to the city now and then is much easier from squam,you can’t go wrong with either.im jealous! It’s expensive up north no matter where you live!

I lived in north van for a while but always wanted to live in pemb part time

Its pretty fucking expensive, if you can find less than 800 a month you're lucky and that is rare even if you get a house with like 5 people which is pretty much the only way to keep rent under 900 or 1000 a month.

I know how expensive it is, ive lived there for a few years. The expense is worth the convenience of being closer to town.

Unless you have a car, then I would recommend Pemberton

I would have a car, was leaning towards Squamish because it waterfront and bigger, more of a social vibe.
 
Bump, I got a 6 bed room, nice trap house south of whistler but north of squamish I am looking at and a 3 bedroom kickass cabin on the northside of pemby, anyone want to go in on these for the season w me?

yeah haha I grew up just two streets over on Hemlock! Id love to help ya but im in Australia right now. if I hear of something ill pm ya

they are like 30 minutes away, anything right in whistler is expensive and you cant fuck around and be a hick as much

Yeah, no one prefers a commute, but youll have to pay 2000 a month for a fucking closet to get near the mountain, it sucks.

its a decent treck, I dont want to be packed in town but I dont want to be super far away either.

i was having a further look and it does look like there is a bit of a slope on the property so you could potentially set up a sick PVC rail garden haha

its cool but so far, I fuck with it so heavy other wise. Probably going for the 6 person instead, but I still need to find roomates. I want a spacious place like these for rails and all around shenanigans

well they dropped their price like a grand a while ago, assuming its still around and we got it for 4000can/month we would need to find 2 people in adition to you and me, rent would be 775 usd ish and we would have our own place right on the edge of whistler.

Hmmm that’s more manageable rent but that’s till dece high rent, if we could get another person tho I’d be down to share a room lol

well its dirt cheap in whistler, id want my own room and would pay the 775 for it, but if you and someone are willing to share a room, that would make it worth it

im down, idk who else would be down but im into it, this place seems way better, but cost more, but is fully furnished, has a hot tub, super nice and set up for sleeping 4-8 (read description)

there are a couple people who posted ads on there looking for bedrooms we could talk to, been way into this place since I found it but its just until december 1st, but lets say we got them to do 2100 a month, would come out to 540-550 usd a month before utilities and no one would have to share a bedroom. when you looking to move (hypothetically)

yeah, im looking to get in early, like october 1st ish, and for that price I would, but would have to find another place for december and on, which we would need to lock down now.
