Spyder Signs Corey Vanular?!?!?!?!?!?

Spyder's Chad Buckridge today announced that Corey Vanular has joined the Venom team! "We’re stoked about signing Corey because in two words he’s 'way cheele,'" Buckridge said. "He dominates the park, is really progressive and is a great fit for Spyder. He just compliments our group of riders really well. We’ve been focusing on our 'freeride' product (or 'freestyle' if you’re from Europe)," Buckridge continued. "We’re excited that Corey’s excited to be a part of it." We asked Corey a couple of questions about his new sponsor:

What were you feeling when you signed w/ Spyder?

At first, like any new beginning, I was skeptical. But I think there is a

lot of potential with Spyder, all they needed was the right people to give

input on the clothes, and represent it well. Now with their new team

additions, Josh Bibby and myself, I think things will turn in a new and

better direction for Spyder.

What do you like about Spyder?

The fact that it has soo much potential, and the clothes of course!

How do you feel about where they're taking their clothing design and how

it's progressing?

After the last couple years the clothes have been improving, especially with

the puffy furr jackets and the Digi camo suits.

How stoked are you for this season?

I’m soo stoked for this season! Last year wasn't the best year for me, I got

hurt, missed a lot of the snow, didn't film much. Coming into this year,

it's a new start, I'm psyched to progress my skiing. This summer I went to

the water ramps and got my double flatspins down, so I'm psyched to start

the competition season. Also this year I'm filming exclusively with Josh

Berman, and I'm going to go all out with my segment, if everything works out

(health, snow, ect..) I'm planning on busting out a very progressive urban,

pow, park segment.

apres-jon-he had soem input and they changed how they made clothes and came up with somethign pretty steezy

same shit woudl happen to spider with van and bibs on the team now.....(although they have ahd mad pros in their team)
 
I didn't think they were that bad before, I just think Orage is a TON sicker. CR is on spyder, and his signature suit is pretty steezy. I'm sure they'll make some sick stuff for Corey though.
 
agreed. just like Helly Hansen used to be so gay... now with their sponsorship of select athletes and big films they are cool and everyone wants helly. Athlete and film endorsements speak loads for increased corporate revenues.

Moral of thre story is that Spyder will be much cooler and more desired with Vanular on board. He is the future of 'us'.

 
i think its been posted before, but I gotta give him props, trying something new, hoping to improve. sounds like a good switch even though he did do well on orage.
 
i was sorta dissapointed, i loved orage and though they were moving in he right direction. spyder on the other hand has never really appealed to me. lets see wat changes are made to teh spyder line to accomodate bibby and vanular
 
Thats a big loss for Orage. Him, Houle and JP made the orage team sick. Ive never really like spyder shit and they really dont have that much influence in the freeriding community. Who knows. Mabey it will be a big thing for Spyder.
 
corey vanular is the man, hes sick on whatever company he rides for, i like orage clothing more but spyder is still a sick company and he'll make them shit loads of paper
 
i'd be stoked to be on spyder

the fact that they make race gear shouldnt make a difference because the truth is they make quality clothing, and they've been doing it for years they've got their shit together
 
yeah i saw that on here the other day

i was wonderin cause on the orage site it still says hes on the team. problly just didnt update it r somn. but yea spyder is raising their rep... started making some stuff besides tights and racing shit.
