SPT adds sun valley

this could seriously put sv on the map. and tickets this year are 56 dollars through dec 13th, then 82 in the main season. pretty fuckin expensive
 
who gives a shit if they are cheap til the 13th? they wont have a decent park set up until probably feb.
 
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a resort where the tickets are under 56 bucks.

lol u guys are complaining about tickets under $60 and $90?? go anywhere else with a dope park and tickets are close to and upwards of $100. if SV makes a dope park this year, it will def be worth both the drive and the price. everything else down here sucks...

i'm considering getting a season pass to SV and not bogus...

and who's down to make a CO trip this season? i wanna try and get out there twice but the $$$ will decide when and if i can go... the more people we get, the cheaper the drive will be. FREE PLACES TO STAY!! just gotta pay gas, food, and tickets. (super pass is legit and cheap!)
 
ha. having a certain terrain park company in charge of your parks doesn't guarantee that they'll be good. it's all about the park manager and crew.
i'm from seven springs, a fellow SPT-run mountain. it's...ok. a bunch of flat boxes, a few flat rails. no variety, no flow, nothing special.
but who knows, maybe sun valley will put together a sick park. but my point is, there's no reason to get your panties in a bundle just because some big-name park company is coming to town.
 
you'd think that, but i have a hard time believing it. in terms of target customers, springs is basically the aspen of the east. definitely not hurting for money at all
 
Brian, Sun Valley has more money than like....anywere....that place has money coming out of its ass....It's not just the resort, its the whole area of Sun Valley...So they have potential to become fucking legit but who knows....Park crew and management has a lot to do with it and Sun Valley is more of a traditional resort. I guess we should all just wait and see...come mid season everything should be clear.
 
Yeah but brian has a point though. If you look on sun valley's website in their "future plans" or whatever it says that they plan on building a terrain park. The catch tho is they say it is going to be on lower greyhawk that run would only allow for a small park like brian is talking about. The only way sun valley will have a dope park is if they set it up all the way down lower warm springs from the shorter warm springs chair down. Hopefully they will get something good going cause they have he potential too, but if they stick with their plan of putting it on lower greyhawk, well.... lets just say it won't be copper's park .
 
I agree...I was just stating that Sun Valley has a shit ton of money regardless of anything park related.

 
Still think I would rather drive the extra 2 hours to SLC to hit park city than ever going to SV. Because it sucks. ass
 
its going to take awhile for sun valley to produce anything on level with other mountains. most of our terrain is to steep for a park, if you've skied there last year you'd know how sketch and awkward the one jump we had was. this is a big step and im stoked!!!! they're going to concentrate the park on dollar(the bunny hill). which is good because all the park rats will go there leaving the goods for real g's.

maybe the jump last year was sketch because it wasn't built right. the steepness of the run doesn't make a huge deal... if speed is an issue, either check it or build the jump accordingly.

you got good jokes. but you dont know shit about sun valley skiing. the jump was built poorly last year(s). We're waaaaaay behind in the freeride scene. and our bunny hill is steeper then bogus.
 
it totaly is, there are a ton of sweet spots (lower river run, lower broadway) for a park but they are all major runs and not wide enough to build a solid park. lots of old ass rich people complain about newschool skiers on the mountain

i think bogus's park is going to be the best this year, no one can even compete with theirs. you guys just dont know shit, sun valley is a pussy resort, i heard you guys dont even have a backside, or magic carpet
 
lower warm springs is plenty wide enough to put a huge jump line and rails on the rights side leaving a run that would still be hella wide enough, now the old ass people being pissed thats true

yea ur right... i don't know sun valley... the sun valley i do know is the largest trailer park in the world (sun valley, NV... right next to reno). go figure its one of the wealthiest and one of the poorest places in the US at the same time...

and you don't know me. i'm from tahoe, and idaho skiing just doesn't compare. i don't give a fuck what you say. the CLOSEST thing i've seen to anywhere in tahoe is Schweitzer. we'll see what sun valley brings to the table this year... and if u say sun valley's bunny hill is steeper than bogus, then you obviously don't know shit about what a bunny hill is.

i would tear sun valley apart, park or no park. i guarantee u wouldn't keep up. don't come at me sayin i don't know shit.
 
Agreed. I don't know SV either but living in Utah for a few years was fun and I will be money that SV wont have a park near as amazing as Park City or even on par with Schweitzer.

Damn thats some good stuff to hear. I remember 7 years ago there were rumors of a park being built and ever since then SV has made half ass steps to bring about a full park. Can't wait to come back and kill it

i never once hated on SV. i just hated on you for saying dumb shit.

i was actually stoked about SV this year and couldn't wait to ski it because i hear a lot of good stuff about the mountain, such as the good news in this thread. but if there are a lot more dumb fucks like you there i'm not sure i would enjoy myself so much... unless of course i just spray gapers all day... that is a blast!

 
did you ever notice how many mountains are named Baldy? its a lil weird, people should think of more original names.
