let me have em - Im finding the slush a but sticky and think it might be time for a different approach to tuning - any hints?

 
yea, here are a few.

first off, get your skis stone ground really deep. what is achieved here is buy putting larger grooves in your base, water will flow out easer. second, try finding high floro wax, or this shit called stunt wax (stuntwax.com) it works so good for these spring days. also, if its really slushy, just pour some joy kitchen soap on your skis, its slippyer then shit for slush like conditions.

ohh, and silicon spray from your local hardware store, just leave it at the top of the park and spray your skis everytime through. 1 can should sat about the hole day, and its pretty slick.

clean your bases after every time you ski...with no new snow a lot of shit builds up on the top (pitch) and transfers to your bases...at least around herre.

yea, for anyone who grinds skis, a 17mm linier grind works awsome for these spring like conditions. water sheets out like you wouldnt believe.

sometimes if i'm running low on my wax i reuse it...i take the shaving that you scrape off and scatter them on the ski...they burn right up and youcan keep on reusing them...i found out i go pretty slow...but maybe that's just the shitty snow we have here in the NW...so i wouldn't try it unless your deperate.

well if you tune your edges in the same area you wax, there is a good chance that you'll be melting metal shavings into your base. How good for your bases do you think that would be?

When spring comes along take them to a shop or you can buy a hand structure but its cheaper to take it to a shop that knows what its doing and tell them you want a deep coarse structure on your skis then go and do the waxing using a flouro wax. (you can use regular wax if your on a budget as long as its a warm temp wax) The difference will be night and day.

Just remember to take your skis before next season and have that deep coarse structure removed and replace with a normal cross pattern .001 fine to medium structure or else it will be a bitch to turn your skis.
