i do the triple jump, long jump, 200, maybe 400 hurdles and probably the 110 high hurdles. I just got back from practice. Last year i did distance, a good time but i sucked at it so not again

I did winter track. I was considering doing spring track but I'm going for Golf instead. I ran the 50 dash. dash longe style. I sucked but it helped my skiing. I felt like I had more control over my skis and such

yeah i do 3000m and steeplechase. it's a lot of fun... i am not a huge fan of indoor track though because it's no fun running 3000 on a 150m track. not at all.

i've done it up until this year. i was mainly 800, 4x8, and mile runner, but i also did the 400, 4x4 and two mile. tracks a cool sport but i couldnt stand all of my stupid coaches and a lot of kids on the team just didn't give a shit and pissed me off a lot, so i'm not doin it this year and am just running on my own and doin road races and stuff.

i do spring field, though technically i'm on the spring track team. i throw javelin and shot-put. throwers on my team have it sooo easy, we just hang around, lift, and play stickball at practice. good times.

Are any of you jumpers any good? I was a triplejumper through HS and college and did pretty good.

im just learning triple jump but last year our school had one of the best kids in the state of NJ who jumped 44 feet 8.5 inches. He was a beast

3000 and 1500, long distance is where its at, cross country rules over track though.

i slept with your mom last night

shot and disc, maybe pole vault if we get a pit.. one of 2 girls that throw at our school, how sad

~welcome to squawllywood~

pimp that shit

ran strong mid distance...4s and 8s (which are the two hardest races, ^^agreed)...also ran a lot of 16s and then relays of course...medley, 4x4, and 4x8......track is rad and so is xc, i loved xc in the fall, ave had really strong teams the last few years ranking top 10 nationally......running and racing in general is great, one of the purest forms of competition...and it keeps you in great shape......i coach now, we have a junior who ran 48 low in the 400, first meet of the season......what kinds of times are you all posting?

I run the 2 mile, mile, and maybe 4x8. We haven't had a meet yet this year, but my 8th grade year mile was 4:58, and my 8th grade 800 was like 2:17. I'm hoping for the 2 mile this year like a 10:45. I dunno, except that XC is better than track in my eyes. 5k time is like 18:30, but I've been working on gettin that down lower.

Run Fast.

discus and shot and im goin to state in the discus....

trust is something that comes easy, when u'v never been a victom

4 and 8 are definitely hard as shit. etsoccer, those are nice times. I'm a frosh and i ran my 5k in 18:26, so pretty good.

i slept with your mom last night

Yea, XC rules in the fall, good stuff. My time is like 19:07, i think thats the fastest time I have had at a meet. Our suppossed 'manager' is a piece of shit and doesn't give us our time's so i had to dig for that. The 18:30 and 18:26 is good though. Keep it up.

This one crazy ass kid from Paterson NJ, not exactly a nice neighborhood, ran a 15:50. Insane. Hes so fast

Yah I triple jump and pole vault. Next to skiing my favorite sport.

better to burn out...

powstash, what school you from? my team got up to second in the nation a few years ago, our girls team's always top ten.

i disagree with the 400-800 hardest races thing because the hardest part about running is the mental factor. in those races you just go all out for a minute or two, but in a two mile or 5k you feel like shit for a full mile or two and have to push through it, not to mention there's much more strategy involved. 800's do make you feel like shit, tho, i puke a lot after running them.

Just cross country for me. Mammoth doesn't haave any of the other stuff you speak of.

100, 200, 400, 800, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800, 300 hurdles, long jump, high jump. i do it all, and i hate it.

ya sure about that? is it more like you HAVE done all them....but u cant possibly do all of them in one meet...i dont believe it

400 and 800, but im out fer the first half of the season for violating the athletic code, damn MIPs. Anyways, Fuck track, im just half assing it till state, maybe ill win something, maybe not.

skitheburg...i went to albuquerque academy...i think we were ranked 13th a few years ago...and then sixth last year or the year before...any national ranking is something to be stoked on, #2 is rad shit man, congratulations...it's all about serious programs and fast times......as for the hardest rad comments...i think the distinction that needs to be made is that the races are so different...there is more strategy in the 800 than a lot of people think, and hitting a wall with 300 to go is definitely something you have to mentally push through...no disagreement about the long runs cuz i know them all to well...

Long jump, triple jump, and 60 meter hurdles. I'm pretty much a sprinter. Some kid from another school last year jumped 16 feet in the long jump.

i used to do highjump... got 2nd once... but then i got lazy and decieded to ski. it costs $ @ my school to play one team (ski) and even more for 2+ its shiiit

Michelle what point are you tring to make by the kid long jumping 16 feet? The norm here is 18-21 ft.....

better to burn out...

^well u never said that because no one gives a shit about a high schooler jumping 16ft..still kinda puss for long jump at my school atleast

Yea 16 feet isnt special, a sophmore at my school does 20 feet, and last year our best senior did 44 and 8 inches in the triple jump. Anybody on the east coast go to the penn relays?

jibba jabba

i go to rockford high school, i wasn't a varsity runner when we were that good, i was just a freshman, that was back when we had dathan ritzenhein, i dont know if you've heard of him or not, he won nationals twice. congrats to you, too, its cool being a part of something like that, even if you're not a key runner or anything. im all done with running now, i ran cross in the fall and had a good season, but i'm opting to not run in college.

oh i know who dathan is...he's ridiculous!...watched him win ncaa nats i think it was...it was siiick...he'd been injured a while and it was only his second race of the season or something...i might be off on that but it wasan impressive showing all the same......i took some time off from races, just got so burnt from training all the time and putting ridiculous miles into my legs...i'm going to pick things up and start regimenting workouts again until the fall, going to run college, nothing serious like D1 but def something to do and get back into things with...just started to miss it too much...if time off is what you need then do it to it cuz so many miles puts a lot of abuse into your legs and feet...but never stop running......you knew dathan, that's rad

correct.....track does suck, i quit two weeks in. Cross country is another story, long distance rules -a little harsh if you're into smoking the cheeb, though.
