im not disrespectin sprong here or any thing but every pro could huck a switch 12 its cool spong is doin um but one huked spin doesnt compete with stylish swictch sevent with cool grabs both ways but once hes 16 hell be better than carleson and spriggs

 
i think dereks buddy told me that he has ridden pipe less then 10 days this year, and yes he did get beat but gettin seventh outa 60 something he still did some beatin of his own

Spriggs is an all around skier, he can boost outta the pipe, throw 360 swwitch ups, and throw up to cab 12, cab unnatty 9s, ALL AROUND

No disrespect to Spriggs, but Dorey's WSI win was all it took to covince me.

Runners up: Tim Russel, Spriggs, Leboe, Spong... I don't really count Carlson as a rookie since he was already pretty well established last season, at least among people I talked to.

watch the trailer for safety meeting^ the guy has some sick cab 9's and he also made it into superfinals or whatever they called it at WSI slope

 
^ the guy that does it over the road gap... that was dope... but still, i mean he is prolly damn good, but we are talking rookie of the year... they had to have the best break out year of an unknown, spriggs and sammy and dorey beat him because they won something or got well known somehow

^^i agree but still he is really good, i think next year will be his blow up year. another one from good old silverstar mountain. thats why justin should be considered too because he really had next to no training before the pipe comp.
