Spray painting skis?

is spray painting your top sheets a good idea? Will it hurt anything? Will it stay on? And this is purely just for aesthetics.

It wears away after a month. If you try it make sure it doesn't get on your edge or base because it will fuck up everything.

I would like to try it with full tilts.

why did you buy skis with graphics you don't like....

Because for a lot if people graphics are quite a long way down the list of priorities when it comes to buying a ski. I'm actually thinking of doing the same this year. The pow skis I want look hidious so I'm planning on just spraying them fully black and adding some brand stickers back on them so I don't get in trouble for not repoing them.

I did this last year, with a pair of the Line Influences from a couple years back (horrible gothic graphic, but I wanted quite a solid ski for ripping about the mountain). The paint chips and flakes off quite easily. You could think about a really thin coat of varnish or something, but I think when you start doing that, you may start to change the properties of the skis, albeit very slightly.

Here's how mine turned out:

Which pow skis are you eyeing?

So i recently painted my summer skis that i rode at windells all summer while working so lots of clicking in and out, first time i didnt sand the skis i just painted and it chipped in a few weeks around the heel piece and the tails and some nose from clackin the skis, if youre gonna paint em get rustoleum primer and spray that after you sand it with a 400 grit sandpaper so it can bind to the ski gotta rough up the top sheet. then do your paint color or graphics, paint pens work damn well for drawing and tags... then clear coat them and you should be solid just let them cure for 2 days! and you should get minimal chipping on the edges of the topsheet

Haha not sure I should say as I have already said they are hideous. They are amazing pow skis though and from a brand with a big S.

What year? I'm guessing either the Salomon rocker 122 or Q-115?

Do you recommend a certain spray paint brand?

After sanding the top sheets I have used a marine epoxy paint. Not super cheap but will not chip and seals the ski as well. It lasted 3 seasons for me and I still see them ripping around under the new owners.
