I sprained my ankle a few seasons ago. My ankle swelled like crazy I was afraid it was broken, couldn't walk on it for 3 days. Still went skiing the next weekend, which was silly because I was pretty much just one footing it down groomers. Any edge pressure on the sprained foot resulted in terrible pain. It took about 3 weeks until I could ski somewhat normally, and then a full year before I got full mobility and strength back. I didn't do any PT though, I wish I had, as I think it would've greatly shortened my recovery time. It took a really long time to get my flexibility back. Ankle sprains are no joke.
