SPONSORSHIP?

Hey Guys,
I've been skiing for about 4 years and my friends are surprised im not sponsored yet. If anyone has any information about getting sponsored or any sponsorship opportunities please hit me up. Thanks!

This helps, but what helps the most is to know the right people. Find out who knows local reps and see if they are willing to help you out. That way you have someone in the inside that can vouch for you and get your videos to the right people.

This is your best advice...
Reps are def your way in the door...
Or even start smaller become a shop rider for your local shop.... Reps normally check out local shop riders...
Also put together a good portfolio of you skiing etc. and email companys... not just for the sake of it... but ones you want to represent.

There's usually a sponsorship kiosk at the bottom of most hills. However, in some cases the kiosks get blown up by ski patrol.

as someone said get out there and get known ... but it really just comes down to if your good enough to get sponsored.

thats strange, 4 years of skiing and not sponsored yet? Thats more years then most Pros.

Tell you what, I'll let you in on a secret. I heard that if you pay a company, (say, SAGA), a sum of money (say, 300 dollars), they will sponsor you for 300 dollars of absolutely free gear!

I have done this with many companies: Jiberish, SAGA, and LINE

dude you need a new sarcasm meter, cuz you just blew yours up
but dam, is the OP serious. if you dont know how to get sponsored, then you shouldnt be sponsored.

im gonna be in the same position in the next two years. im just gonna keep progressing and filming

Learn to spin all 4 ways consistently, dial rodeo and corks and learn every grab you see within all of these tricks. Then, learn to slide both ways consistently, dial all 8 and get some form of pretzel on every metal feature in any given park.

Then get in line and wish you had industry connections, like everyone else.

They usually just see me on the hill and come up to me and ask me if I want some free stuff. That hasn't happened to you yet??

If you can comfortably spin all 4 ways with the grab of your choice, have rodeos and corked tricks dialed, can do all 8, not to mention pretzel most features in your park and you are still not sponsored by at least a few grassroots programs then you clearly don't understand the ski industry any better than this kid does. If you can do half of what you are claiming, then put it in an edit, put that edit on a DVD and start researching who to send the footage to. I don't know anyone, not one single person, that is skiing at the level you are talking about without some company backing.

I have been on NS for a while, and I can usually tell sarcasm pretty well, but I don't know what to do with this one--I simply don't know if your being serious or not.

just keep skiing and having fun, don't worry about sponsorship, make as many friends on the hill as you can, if you do things right everything will come to you. That's what I did - I'm not kidding, I wasn't even thinking about getting a sponsor and then they just sorta showed up.

you know the worst bits of talent shows, like Idol, is when the people on stage are super shitty and tell the judges they're friends told em they were really good and thats why they went on the show

To be serious. There's a website - loopd.com where you set up your profile with videos and photos and apply for sponsorship from there. It's free and also seems to be a pretty good way to make connections where you can get reductions as well. I'm on it and didn't take long to get sponsored by SMX optics. Not really a big claim but still put's me out there. Try that.

Dude, I am surprised no one has stopped you to offer you tons of sponsorships. Every day I see people get stopped to get free ski gear and clothing!!

Maybe you aren't skiing in the right spot? Everyone can ski the rails and double diamonds, but to do a rad snowplow on the bunny hill, that is where all the sponsorships take place!! Are you hanging out on the bunny hill and rocking your snowplow??
