Ok, so pretty much im not that good at freeski'ing. I dont got much style but i can throw down 5's pretty decently. And i can do all straight rails/boxes no prob but with nothing out, but soon ill get pretzel 3's out cuz i almost got it the other day. And i cant do up/down or C rails.

How much better do i have to get to pick up either a cloathing, ski, glove, boot,or goggle sponsor?

Learn 9s, cork 7s misty 7s switch 7s, 450 onto rails, and 270s out, then tell us your age and your competition results and then we can help you. Maybe. You don't want to be sponsored, you just want to ski lots. Skiing lots is something easy to achieve, and you'll probably never be sponsored, as with most people including myself.

pretty much that or more. Or you just need to win comps, but where I'm from thats what you need, either to win comps or get sponsors. Or you can just launch massive cliffs and get it on video and then send it to people and you might get lucky.

your right, with that bag of tricks you wouldn't get a sponsor...

with how the economy is right now, you will need a hell of a lot more...like all 4 nines...and switch 12s...and a double...then be able to do rail stuff like switch 270 pretzel 270...and have your own unique style...because no company is picking up kids right now who aren't going to be able to win big comps, and that is what you need to win big comps now.

to be a big time athlete you need all that and to go to all the big time comps and get video segments, but their are kids who are not all that amazing that are sponsored. It really just depends on who you know and how you will represent their product and if you travel and get around a lot. Yes competition results are really important.

If i were you i wouldnt even bother trying to be spanced. Just ski for fun and dick around, thats what its all about man. Unless your like top skier at your mountain and youve competed in a few comps id say then give sponsorship a real look, but other then that just try and progress the most you can and have fun, isnt that why we all ski?

I seriously fucking love ski'ing...been doing it for over 7 years now..but only freeski'in sense last year.

I just thought it would be dope getting a free pair of ski's instead of payin fer that shit cuz i shred so hard. lol

getting sponsored is not really about getting free shit its about representing a company so that you can benefit them. yes you get free shit and thats nice but the point of getting sponsored is not for that. so basically if you get sponsored you are working for that company to help them improve sales and give them a good rep, and in turn they will promote you and your riding. thats basically how you get paid with an am sponsorship at least. when you get good enough for a pro sponsorship they promote you, give you gear, and give you money so that you can go to competitions as well, and if you go super pro then you get paid big money. and also with most sponsors they match whatever winnings you get from comps.

If you and the economy were a little better then you could possibly get sponsored by shop or something. Unless you are already sponsored you're not going to be getting any new ones because ski companies are just trying to get by right now.

Being Sponsored inst about wha tricks you can do, its about loving skiing and being out there every day you can. Go in lots of comps and if you do well send a promo into a rep

Honestly, you shouldn't have to ask NS if you're good enough to be sponsored. How many kids do you know that can do the same tricks that you can do and are sponsored? You shouldn't have to look to NS to claim what tricks you can do or for approval. Have fun skiing. If you want to look into a sponsorship, work hard at it like you would work for anything else you want. it's not always about throwing the biggest tricks or winning the biggest comps, ski companies look for people that represent their brand well, promote the product they're riding, and sell skis. Don't ski to get sponsored, ski to have fun doing what we all love to do.

Double cork? Seriously in your video you can't land a single cork. Your skiing isn't bad in that but I find it hard to believe you are landing double corks.

yea ik my vid sucks lol ok i did a few dub cork there not consisten though so yea and the dub front was an accident it was the first time i tried a front on a big jump and i overspun so much i did a dub so now i can land a dub front consistently it's actually pretty easy and the 10 is easy as hell and corks i can do good dub cork aren't consistent that's it and i have not enough style and yes my vid sucks but that's cause nobody feels like standing and filming while everyone else is skiing so lol can't get a lot of filming in.

Sorry, no.

I love skiing and I ski 5 days a week. I'm not sponsored. Why? Because I rarely compete and I don't win when I do.

To be sponsored you have to be able to wear someone's gear and impress people so they buy said gear. You do this by being stylish as fuck, creative as fuck, impressive as fuck, or by winning comps. Not by skiing as much as possible.

And there is no way your first sponsor is just going to GIVE you skis and all kinds of free stuff.

If you get lucky, you'll get like 30% off.

sponsors are hard to come by dude, im not very good but here is some advice i feel like would work.
1. Ski As Much as possible
2. Have Fun
3. Progress to benefit yourself not to get sponsored
4. Meet people/connections
5. Enter Comps
6. And hopefully get lucky
Sparknotes: Ski a lot, have fun and meet people

why dont you shut the fuck up about your tricks and with the excuses and just let your skiing show it in a video....if you dont have it on film theres no need in telling anyone what you can do cuz no one is gonna believe that bullshit...

All of this is true, but you have to be fairly lucky if you want to be in any of these situations. I know I'm not lol. Maybe next year though : )

To the poster: if you are in any of the aformentioned situations, take advantage of it!

And z-rob123, I agree with you completely.
