hey i was wondering how hard it would be sponsored by line- like getting on the ground troops. how good do you have to be?

 
i'm thinkin if ya gotta ask, then you ain't. my buddy is a rep for LINE and he says they are lookin for kids that will do well in competitions and kids whose names are recognized throughout their ski region, so good luck wit that.

only one way to find out, eh? but... to give you an idea... you should have sw corks, or sw rodeos, or something off axis switch perfectly... illin rail skills, and some unatty shit... at least a solid 5

 
the royal army you just sign up on the site then you get a email like 2 days later saying your on the royal army there's soooo much peps on the royal army man so just sign up for that, but for the ground troops you have to rep line and be the best at your local mountains by far

I would say if you can do a 3 you are pretty much automatically gonna get sponsored

Becker is finally getting promoted this year, but he's been on the ground troops for a while now. That right there is a testament to the standard of riding.

 
yeh man unless u are absolutley amasing then comps is it....get a bunch of descent-good slots at comps and they will come to you...maybe not as big a company as line but like local shops etc.

theres more than just the special forces and ground troops. the ground troops are sponsored directly threw jordan judd. a rep sponsorship will still get you skis but your not gonna be a ground troop.

keasbyknights, im sorry to tell you but for you it will be very hard to get sporsoned by any one.Your park is a sad example of a park. There are kids who are 12 years old killin it on 50 or 60 footers and you have 10 foot jumps. And from what i have seen at Elk nobody has talent in the park. The only thing i saw up there this year was backflips , other than that i didnt see one kid do over a 3.

it's funny how true that is. If you're wondering how good you gotta be to be sponsored, you're not there yet. I remember when I used to obsess about it when I was just a wee one, I think we all did at one time back in the day.

The deal with a sponsorship with Line is that it based on your local area Line rep. It's a submission of a "sponsor-me-video" sent into the main office in burlington vt which is then distributed to the reps around the country based on the place from which the person who submitted the tape is from.

Skiing is a large factor in a Line Sponsorship but not the only one. The purpose of a sponsorship is to promote the product. Sponsored skiers do just that, they blow up their local spots with Line products, reppin' the product at comps, demo days and everywhere else.

If you're rejected for sponsorship by Line, it's not neccessarily a "you suck at skiing" slap in the face. It's probably because your local rep has a full team of riders and not spot on the roster.

And if you've sent in a video, it might take some time to hear a reply because they are sorted by the line intern who is often very lazy and paid in stickers (and college credits) and then sent to the reps.

Salomon1080s its not based on your skill at all, its who you know. I know kids who are plenty better then alot of the kids on the team and they dont get shit from anyone.

I'm pretty sure it's based on skill and the availability of a position of a rep's "team" of local riders. Sure, if a kid knows a rep and is able to show him his or her skill personally, then that will definately overshoot the whole "sponsor-me-video" but Line doesn't go around sponsoring athletes with no talent.

I think he deserves a sponsorship. Afterall, he is the first person EVER, to spell sponsorship right in an actual sentance regarding getting sponsored.
