Sponsored kids in the Young Gun Opens?

i never said it would be at all.. not the least bit i know its goign to be a hard competition for sure.. ive never said it wasnt or anything even like that all i am saying is that people that are sponsored should def be allowed in it

i have pondered this, and figured that if the guy is like hardcore sponsered like cosco and shit they will figure something out, but someone who is "sponsered" and just getsa like a free pair of goggles, i think they will give them the whole package maybe? i dont know thats just what i thought might happen.

seems like line and siver are making a desperate cry to get some more good riders. it just doesn't seem right in my head. what ever happened to effort, and scouting, and marketable character. now it's just.. go in this comp, if you win, your in. so much for taking time to get to know the riders and choosing them accordingly.

i deffinatly think they should allow sponsored kids into it. Cause if your sponsored, you would still want to ride against other kids. Also, just cause your sponsored doesn't mean you want to get more sponsors or get your name out. If you you win a big young gun comptetition your name gets out to the big compaies. If a sponsored rider does win, either hook him/her up (as long as he/she is not sponsored by a ski company) and if they are, give them all the prizes except the hook up, and go down the standings until somwone is not sponsored.

 
everyone besides the pros should be able to do it...Like some people have already said...even if a kid gets some flow and may be on the am team, the kids who want to win this should be better than not only the ones who have no hook ups as well as the ones who do. I know that im gonna try to make it up there, i have sponsors and i dont really care if people dont really like it that im going. Its a good opportunity for all of us. so we should all just come and compete, including cosco and ahmet, and any other sponsored kids.

i am not saying you shouldn't go. but you have alot of sponsors. And when you have a lot of sponsors your name is already out in the industry. I think you should just go to VT open instead. was a sick contest last year.

 
haha, well at the VT Open tanner rainville won, tim russel got 2nd i think, josh bibby got 4th it hink and tim won the rail jam...all pros won that

and we all comepte there to beat the pros...if you cant beat kids who are sponsored, do you think you deserve it? sponsorship never comes easily. im expecting a lot of talent at these competitions, so should you.

I think it would be the best competition if it was people not sponsored or not with a big sponsor. Say if your on the amature team or the pro team then your out but if you don't have a pic or profile on the ski companies site you should be able to go. i think the rule should be you have to be under 18 and not pro like spriggs or naular couldn't compete but only full on pro like them

The hard think is its a flow sponsorship by Line, Siver,Scott,Level and maybe another compant or 2. The sponsored kids would have to drop there current companies(if allowed) and who is saying that an unsponsored kid will win against a sponsored kid should not further qualify? Thats pretty dumb because sponsored kids should be on top of there game. They would have to drop there ski,goggle,clothing/glove sponsors to compete in the event if they want it that bad.

That would be gay if sponsered kids not allowed. the prizes in this comp are so much more than all of our sponsers give us. It would be completely unfair to not have sponsered kids in. Im sponsered and i guarantee that pretty much all of you dont know who i am and have never heard of me.

Im glad that its all ages. That would be pretty damn heartless if they made it under 18. Besides age doesnt exactly determine how good you are.

thats rediculous.... y would u drop ur sponsors to go into the competition, by entering the comp you arent automatically taking the sponsorship contracts from those comapnies. if you win, they are offering you the sponsorships, whether you take them or not is up to you. the competition is to start you ski career....if your one step ahead of some kids (you ahve sponsors) then thats great for you, and you can use verythign else the comeptition has to offer to start your ski career

well put. just because you're spankored doesnt mean you have a legit ski career ahead of you. the ygo can help anybody who isnt all up in the magazines these days. either way, the competition level is going to be off the hook with so much at stake.
