my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

pick a song out a head of time and get every trick you can do on video.. differnt grab with that trick.. and make it look style from different angles and stuff.. if someone trusts you enough do a boot mount.. haha.. umm tree skiing.. mogul footage to show your an all around skier.. pipe footage.. comp footage shit like that

I think there was an article in some ski mag recently about this by mike D, I think it was Skier. I don't remember exactly how long he said it should be but it was relatively short, like 5 minutes tops, and stressed showing all your landings and virtually all of your tricks.

no the sponsors will not come to me because of where i live. and yes..i can throw those tricks...

pakpowder-more than my tricks, i feel i can offer companies so much. companies like ___ (will not say name, because i don't want this to turn into like some flaming post) i already rep so much...that i want to express this.

i plan on writing a letter explaining the stuff that can't be put into video. i need to explain the power i have at my local hill, and the fact that if i say __ is a good company , or __ is a good store, they WILL go there.

everyone saying shit about my tricks, I SKI IN OHIO. the 1080's in the pipe are like 2 foot off the lip, skiing where i ski, you learn to do stuff like that spinning fast. i dont like the 1080s i like never do them, they have no style.

i think i am either going to first contact the comapny, make sure they are excepting entries, and aask them which format THEY prefer. if they don't care, i'll send them a CD for computer. i will ask to speak with the manager or each shop, or head guy at the time of each company

i am not going to say who it's going to...too much contrversy. it'll be a big company or 2, a few small ones, and a few local shops

and again, the sponsors will not come to me skiing in ohio. i NEED to go to them.

another thing: i do aerials, i think i am just going to put like 1 or 2 aerials jumps of me on water ramps, just to show my dedication, and my 9/12 months of skiing. good idea?

i'm hoping the fact that i ride at a place with 125 vert. ft. will help my situation, i plan on getting some footy of my hill to show them that for where i ride i can throw down pretty well.

the cool thing is that i can go to these competitions and usually do pretty well,too.

i guess we'll just have to see at slopesteez though :-)

but i'm trying to avoid that ohio-skier image, the image of a bunch of kids throwing big, hucked tricks, with no style, 6 inches off the ground. sure, i COULD do that, but i am moving away from that.

dude youre a fucking poser i know plenty of skiers in ohio that could tear you apart, no ones going ot give you help here if youre good enough to get sponsored then they will come to you and wouldnt need to be asking online, ive grown up skiing and i know plenty of people that are from ohio and have sponsors. If you want to go get sponsored then do it and quit telling us about how good you are and what tricks you can do. im sure the only thing thats stopping oyu from doing 1080s is because you dont think they are stylish...ya that or you suck i dont know

i ski at alpine valley, okay? would you like information about it or what? i'm telling you guys this one more time: skiing there will not get companies to sponsor me. plain and simple.

i'm SOOORRRYYY that me, nor my family, have the money for me to ski out west, or live in new england, or anywhere , or go anywhere for that matter, so i can get 'noticed'. i can't help that.

there is nothing wrong with going to the companies, instead of having them come to you. NOTHING. that isn't what this thread is about!

Well put djxtreme. For teh vids, put your jmps and landings, but also put in some cliff hucks and powder shots, with moghuls too. a good-all round type skier then. You couldalso ask the companyyou are trying to get to sponsor you what they want in a skier. Good luck and good hunting

so what i'm doing is just getting a little footage of like me carving switch, and me just maybe skiing a little.

i'm getting some footage of my aerials, and a little from Whistler, CoC, also. the CoC footage, along with the comp footage, is to show that when i go othe places i can still throw stuff down, you know?

i REALLY want the sponsors, potential-sponsors to understand about where i ski, and how bad it is. but i also want them to know that occasionaly i DO go other places.

hey guy, just a few pearls for you to mull over...things ive had success with

go with what feels right, make all the editing TIGHT, if a clip drops a frame or looks sortve shitty, reshoot it. Trust me, nothing ruins the flow of a sponsor video, or any video for that matter, then a bad shot. its really a flow killer

pick a good song and edit TO it, so the skiing flows to the editing

all these things are standard, im sure u know all this

DONT be afraid to do some non-ski footage, not ALOT, but give companies an idea of what type of person you are, when u get a sponsor, they dont just want u as a skier, they get you as a total package. Dont act like a dipshit in front of the camera, there will be plenty of time to make an ass out've yourself once your sponsorse (watch Blunt for some prime examples)

and this might sound strange, but pick a song that no ski movie has used, and something that has a little vintage quality to it. Think about this, the people that are gonna decide on your sponsorships arent 17 year old kids that watch MTV all day. Put some Floyd or Zepplin in there, hell even a few David Bowie or Zappa tunes are pretty sick for a movie. Throw in a song that people are gonna be like 'shit, i remember that song' (prime example, David Bowie-Black Country rock-from salad dayz, who ever thought that song would be there the first time u watched it, but it definately fits the feel of the segment)

AVOID going too long, any demo/promo takes, whether its for a sponsorship/band/ect should be NO LONGER then five minutes. If your as good as you say, you dont need any longer to get your point across

Hit the bumps, hit the steeps (if you have them, i have no idea where you out've) hell even some trees. Ever wonder why McConkey and Morrison are so respected? they can rip just as well outside of the park as they ever could in. Hel look at Plake, ive met him twice and he's one of the best skiers ive ever seen in my life. Run the bumps, just give people a feel that your just not some park rat that can throw a 1080, but would die in a bump run or shit his pants off a cliff

Being from the midwest, it is tough for kids to get even a shop sponsor. So best of luck. I talked to a kid who just got sponsored by M3 and he said just put a ton of variation in your video. Spinning both ways, a variety of tricks and grabs. Again, good luck!

hey, I didn't quite understand that you lived out in a rural area with little if any exposure.

Keep a good flowing video with variety and maybe something new and different (like the suggestion for using classic rock music)

like i said get a song in mind that has a good rythem to itget all your best tricks on film with clean landings and get all your stylie shit in and try and get different variations like different grabs. they also like to see that you compete so along with your bio and comp results show some comp footage. good luck. if you need help with sponsors i can hook ya up
