Sponsor Situation

If you were a big ski company with a huge budget for a team, what three skiers would you sponsor? There's many perspectives on why so make sure you explain your choices!

Parker White - He goes hard in the paint, on big ass jumps and backcountryWill Wesson - His urban is so creative. And smooth. I want to watch him ski forever.

Kaya Turski - Shes a hot babe that can spin to WIN!! (Switch 10 holy shit). and now she can backflip haha

How much are we talking about? 30g? 40g? 100g?

Id rather give money to people that dont have a bunch. Maybe give 5-10g to people like:

LJ

John Kutcher

Crazy Carl

Detox

Steve Stepp

Colin Colins

Give 3-4g to some more regional kids that are killing it.

Give some to smaller movie company's to help them get a start. Never give more then 15gs to anyone, and hook a bunch of kids up with skis.

Hooking 30 kids up with skis > Giving someone in the X-Games or Dew Tour money. Instead of making 3 or 4 people happy why not make 30 kids happy.

word. micro sponsorships are where its at.

get the best kids at the mountain stoked on the gear, and they'll convince their friends to buy it no problem.

Local ski shops do this, but maybe large companies should too

Dylan

Because he spits hot fire!

I'd sponsor pep fujas. Primarily because he strikes me as being an incredibly fun person to be around and ski with. And that's what I would want from my people.

Ideally for me

Green Goblin

Talkington

Kutcher

~Trap Team~

Ideally for the company

Wallisch

Bobby

Kenworthy

Trick question, I would use all the money to feed starving children and send underprivileged kids to school. There are more important things than skiing.

Yep.

(but actually what they said about microsponsorships, make some established riders rather then recycling them)

Make it more interesting by posting exactly why you would choose the riders you would choose.

Just 3 ? Then

Tom Wallisch - for urban and park

Sean Petit - for backcountry

Parker White - for his overall skiing, style and mission to kill himself.

Just for business, I'd go:

B Dog and E dollo: It seems like if you have these two, anything they do is considered cool to the ski community. Hell, B Dog can even make a full brim hat cool lol! They also just love skiing and make you stoked.

Third would be Tom Wallisch, just because so many people idolize the guy, and he's a damn good skier.

On a personal level I would give it to who needs a sponsorship the most, and it would be completely different from these guys.

stepp - he's a G, and i love his cork 9's - plus he has a good attitude (i'd say)dtalk - why do i need to explain

john kutcher - st y le

Wallisch-park, comps, urban

Pollard-Slays so hard for Nimbus

Pettit-Mad BC...oh, and this:

I need some snowblading love on my team, so Pettit is the obvious choice because of his "full on split ball slide" and his performance on the "blue fart rail".

Assuming I was a huge company looking for diversity and individuality and can pick up anybody without trouble, I would sponsor as follows:

P-White because he is an amazingly well-rounded skier. He charges BC Lines, demolishes jumps, and has incredible style.

Tammy Whamburger because he is domination in a comp. He slays urban and has great park game.

E-Dollo because He, along with P-White, has one of the most appealing styles in the game. His performance in EOS is enough to convince anyone that he is one of the best skiers on the planet.

Now. Assuming I'm a smaller company without the ability to pick up huge athletes, I would sponsor as follows:

Dale Talkington because he has such great park talent and is such a well-loved rider.

Adam Delorme because he is great in pow and park, and has unbelievable style.

Jesper Tjader because he is a phenomenal skier at such a young age. He's 17 I believe and kills urban and can dub with ease.

pretty solid team youve got there...haha.

and giving 30 kids skis isnt necessarily better than giving x games/dew tour guy money. little johnny sonofabitch that goes skiing 4 times a year and buys new shit every year doesnt give a fuck about little regional dude. he watches dew tour on tv and sees the mega star and then buys that stuff. its sick to have a grass roots thing going but in all reality they dont really sell product.

Bringing out the arsenal:Dane Tudor - Park, Urban and Big mountain

Dale talkington - he is not human

Sig tveit - scandinavian badass

I beg to differ... sometimes the regional heros can do more for local ski sales than the big name guys. Its very dependant on how personable and involved in the local scene they are.

Big name pros often (absolutely not always) get too 'cool' to talk to the little people. A local pro will attend shop nights, demo days, local contests, local parties, etc. They can do a great job of repping the brand right where the people are.

agreed. from what i have observed, when kids meet and have good experiences with pros they really like to support the brands that the pro they have met is rocking. theres a huge difference between watching someone win a competition on tv than meeting them in person.

If it were primarily a park ski company

Kenworthy, Wallisch and bobby brown.

Because they are so popular and have huge fanbases and heaps of followers. Plus they all rip.
