Well they can but usually sponsered people only get so much gear a season to prevent things like this. Like mabye only 3 pairs of gloves or something. It works like that for paintball. Usually 2-5 guns depending on the sponser and also they might get another one if they win a tournoment, as a bonus.

Yes, I've bought stuff from Zach Davison, Max Peters (soon), and Collin Wright. They usually sell it for less then usual because they get it for free.

Nice name drop, but it's true.

As for the whole limiting gear thing, I don't know if thats the case, but if they do give a smaller number, if a guy asks for another pair of gloves because he ripped the other or whatnot, they'll be a good sponser and hook him up.

Also, I think it goes without saying, the bigger the name in the ski world, the more product he gets too.

But yes, they can sell their stuff off, usually at a lot cheaper price.
