Sponcer Ships??

hey every body um I'm thinking of trying to get a sponcer does any one have any tips or any thing that sponcores look for

 
ya there are lots but it takes 4 eva to find em because there is so many post I was trying to find one a few weeks ago and it took me for ever

 
damn, this is the persons first post. wow. they are lookign for a sponsor, you can search the forums, i swear this has been posted 8 times in the last month.

Just ski good and work at a ski shop. Or where the make skis. It helps to know some reps and designers, but if not, just tear it up and have style...lots. Thats how it works for surfing anyways...

First, you need to learn how to spell 'sponsorships.' Then, you need to figure out how in the hell to do a D-spin 540. Then, dedicate yourself to a company and show them that you want to wear their clothing/equipment exclusively, and that if you are going to be supplied by them to be a walking advertisement then you'd better create a good return on their investment.

I want a sponsor ship too, like the one in ski movie 2. That would be cool, like a ship that follows you around wherever theres water.

How do u do a dspin 5, the only thing i could think of is a 180 to late front, but then dspins are supposed to be off axis so that would be a underflip?

Hey Drew what's up?

the best way to go about it for you would be to start with either a local ski shop, or a local rep for a company. You need to make it professional so you make a resume just like you would for a job only it's for skiing, it should include Goals, past achievements, results, and some other stuff about you, if you can include pictures that will definitely help and even more than pictures if you can compile a short video of yourself to show what you can do that's the best. with each resume you send to a shop or a company send a cover letter just like you would on a resume, make it personalized to the company or the shop or the rep so on, it should basically be stating why you want them to sponsor you (pump up their brand say how many great things you've heard about them, even if it's not totally true) then tell them what you can do for them, ie. Exposure, being a good spokesperson and what not, and why by them sponsoring you would be beneficial to them.

Rex has it right on. Be professional, and you HAVE to offer something to them. Just saying 'Yo dude, I'm the SICKEST! Give me skis.' does not work.

If you have a job, such as being a terrain park technician, you could say that you talk to a lot of people, (entering and doing well in comps is a given) if you're a ski instructor, that could help...

Remember, the company doesn't give a rat's ass how good you are, it's all about how much product you can sell for them.

And sleep with people. Or just do oral, that works too.

Who cares about getting sponsored! Just go have some fun. Doesn't anybody remember when skiing was about skiing and not about being a self-centered promoter of some corporation that doesn't really even care about you? SKI BECAUSE IT'S FUN!
