i ruptured my spleen a couple of weeks ago. it sucked, like a horrible stomach ache on your side. anyways, it depends how bad it is. Mine is fractured in 3 places, and it didnt bleed everywhere so i dindt have to get it taken out. I was in the hospital for 9 days, then got released last monday (feb 1st or somehing). i feel fine now, its a bit achy when i strain it, but i know its still healing. you say you just did it a week ago? i would say you shouldnt be skiing for another 3 weeks or so, depending on the severety of it. To tell you the truth, they take around 2 months to completely heal, but you can ski before that as long as you arent jumping all over the place, and falling and stuff. Just take it easy for a little while. I know its hard not to go skiing and stuff, but after a couple of weeks you'll get over it and realize its much more important that it heals. Learn to crochet or do something to take your mind off it. Just dont push it, it would suck way more to re-rupture it skiing and be out for another month. i'm hoping to be back on the snow in early march...hopefully. we'll see how that goes. Yours sounds a lot worse than mine because i didnt break any ribs or anything, whats the details with your spleen injury?
