I am out for the rest of the ski season because i ruptured my spleen on a S-rail...anybody else out because of injury...if you are i feel your pain son(s)

shit that's dangerous. Don't you only have a few hours to live after rupturing your spleen if you don't get surgery right away?

this is the official definition:

Ruptured spleen: Rupture of the capsule of the spleen, an organ in the upper left part of the abdomen, is a potential catastrophe that requires immediate medical and surgical attention. Splenic rupture permits large amounts of blood to leak into the abdominal cavity which is severely painful and life-threatening. Shock and, ultimately, death can result. Patients typically require an urgent operation. Rupture of a normal spleen can be caused by trauma, for example, in an accident. If an individual's spleen is enlarged, as is frequent in mononucleosis, most physicians will not allow activities (such as major contact sports) where injury to the abdomen could be catastrophic.

i didn't have surgery, but i had to stay in the hospital a couple of days

Not pointless. This kid ruptured his spleen in the morning on an S-rail. He then skied the rest of the day, even landing on his stomach later in the afternoon.

my friend ruptured his spleen in the first game of the hockey season, and was out all hockey season and all snowboard skiing until a couple days ago. He also missed school for a month.
