Okay i know there is like 1 million threads on this subject and half of the people on this site will rag and say searchbar...but

I am coming off partially torn ACL and will beable to ski in 3 weeks. So i started looking for some boots cause last year i did the sportchek $100 boots i got fitted to a 28.5 so i bought some lang's whatever were fine for a few days, started getting shinbang just thought it was me all year.

So i went to get fitted today they tell me i should be in a 27.5 so i started thinking that was probably why my shins were so fucked last year.

Anywho the guy brings me out a bunch of boots, felt pressure points in most of them on the sides of my feet (i have pretty wide feet) he brings out the SPK's and the 09 ghosts. they both fit great and the ghosts are ILL. but not really down to spend 700 on a pair of boots.

So because of all the raving about the SPK's and going a size smaller because they packout i tryed on a pair of 26.5's and they were tight but dont hurt. my toes touch the end though, do these boots pack out at all in the toes? And i dont know i am a size 10 shoe and it says a 26.5 is like a size 8.5 or 8 shoe i cant remember, but jumping down 2 sizes in shoe size in ski boots just seems like alot to drop? And where is the cheapest place on the internet to order SPK kaos'?

ps: try to avoid getting fitted by people at sportchek im sure some people can do it but get a few oppions on size atleast, cause a whole size is abit of a fuck up in my oppion.

you have alot of questions...i would say read the boot fitting thread that is stickied. it has alot of good info. not trying to be an ass and just say searchbar, but honestly i think most of your questions about fit and size will be answered.

I have no idea bout boots, but from what i've heard you should just keep your Lange boots, and get a custom mold or heat liner from your foot that fits more specifically.

VERY difficult to tell you the right size boot without seeing your feet.

As far as length/packing out goes - no not really.

You should touch the end of the boot when the boot isn't flexed, then in a forward lean position your toes should come back off the end. If they do, then thats ok. If they still stay on the end when the boot is flexed then the boot is probably too small.

As said above, read the sticky on how to buy boots - shellfitting etc. It may help you, but its very hard for anyone here to give good advice on what boot you should get because frankly nobody is able to see your foot.

well i wear an 11-12 shoe, and i wear a 27.5 SPK boot, and that is a 9.5 shoe size. I went a half size down, becuase i knew they were going to pack out, the liner is soo cushy inside. My friend wears a size 10 shoe, and he wears a 26.5 spk

If you guys searchbarred, you'd find that shoe size has no correlation to ski boot size (or foot size for that matter). You buy shoes for comfort. For eg. I wear a size 9 shoe comfortably but If I wear a performance running shoe I have to go down to an 8 or 7.5 for max performance. Go to a real boot fitter and have them measure your foot. It's not just size but it's width, length, arch height and some other shit.

I can't remember off the top of my head but i think SPKs fit a size different to other Salomon boots?? Is that right or am i imagining things?

^^i dont really think so cause i wear a 27.5 boot in almost every boot ive ever tried on. right now i have older head mojo's 27.5 and spk kaos 27.5 and they fit almost exactly the same in length(although thats about the only thing they have in common)

Hey Man

I had the exact problem as you, good old sport check, you tell them size 10 so they bring out 28 or 28.5. I skied in too big boots for like two years. Last year I bought the spk size 27.0 (27 and 27.5 have the exact same shell just different liners) Since I started working in a ski shop I learned so much about ski boots. I have a wide foot as well thats why I got te SPK`s. Also, with a better ski boot fit, my skiing improved tremendusly. I just moved from Ontario to Golden BC (Kicking Horse) this winter, and I find that The SPK`s don`t work too well for me here, I need a more agressive boot. I am selling my SPK`s(Kaos) size 27.0 (317mm sole) I have used them for a max of only 10 days between last season and the 2 tims I took em out this season. They are in new conditions, with a few marks (only because they are white boots)

I you are interested and looking to buy these boots at a good price e-mail me at jflabrecque@gmail.com

FALSE! the liner nor shell change, jsut the insole on the inside and how much space/how thick it is changes
