he I can only spin up to 360 now. its my first year and I was wondering how to get better and smoother at spinning? any well detailed tips r appreciated!
detail not needed.... keep lookin is the only thing for bigger spins and commit... if u want smoother, dont wind arms a lot, and if u do just back and forward not out. when u throw your spin, grab somewhere and dont flail your other arm... safeties are good start. besides that its the time that takes the style to develop.
360 everything in site, on catwalks off them, moguls, get used to spinning them, then commit yourself, start grabbing your knee and wwork your way down your leg.
hey I got a problem with my spinning... I feel more comfortable spinning left but I spin more right on my feet what side should I try for my 360 I can do 180s on both sides
for a 360 you don't need to carve, you barely have to lean and the 360's come around.
pop off the jump, have momentum built up already. then just let it go!
spin when you are in the air, start to bring your knees up at 90 degrees and keep your head up (do not look at the ground) and just keep it in one solid rotation and you got it
this helped some guy at loon a little... just hop out of your skis at the bottom of the hill and spin some 3's in your boot. do that exact same motion hitting the jump. i was really shitty at the beginning of the year and my arms flailed just doin 3's. then i got bored one day and started skiing in my boots. i did 3's and 5's on the ground and a week later i was thrown down smooth 7's. hit bigger jumps with a lot of speed and throw 3's off those. usually its a confidence level. its easier to spin off of a bigger jump, and try doin cannonballs and saftys. it will help with your balance in the long run.
i never carve for any spin, i just carve for cork 3's
