Spinning with your hips

I hear this a lot...but what does it mean?

I get that you dont want to throw your arms in a spin ... i know that throws you off axis.

How do you make sure you are spinning with your hips?

Do you counter-rotate your hips coming to the lip? I.e. spinning left coming to the lip with your hips rotated to say 2 o'clock? wont this effect ur pop?

throw spins with the strongest part of your body, your core. If you just swing your arms it separates your upper body from your lower so you're spin will stall, you'll go off axis, bad things will happen. if you spin with your core your body stays as one, you are more balanced, and can get more power. Hope that helps.

makes total sense to me man...but how do you ensure you with ur core? is it just a matter of not flinging your arms and you will automatically spin with ur core? do you prewind (conter rotate your hips)?

The think i want to know most is, HOW do you spin with ur core?

Thanks K+

To ensure you use your core when you're spinning, when you pop, actually think about flexing your abs, it will help you use your core and keep you more solid.

^^^ What flexxing your abs?you mean like fexxing them so your whole body stays stiff and your shoulders rotate with your abs?

jump around your house. Spin with your arms a few times, to see how the wrong way feels. Then start spinning with your whole body. You'll know the difference.

finally makes sense now...it was watching the moguls that did it for me...when they spin their arms stay in line with the rest of their body...
