Spinning while on boxes

My question isn't about spinning on, like a 270, it's about spinning while sliding on/over boxes. Anyways, I've had some trouble with it, andwas wondering if camber had anything to do with it? If you think about it, your tips and tails hanging off the edges of the box are lower than the part of your ski that's actually on the box, due to the way camber naturally flexes the ski. So when the ski spins, the lower tail and tips seem to have trouble getting on and over the box as I spin, so I always slow down a bunch or even stall out spinning every 180 degrees. I seem to notice it more with my new Anthems that have a lot of camber, while my friend, who's PE's have literally 0 camber, don't seem to get stuck. Obviously skill is a factor, but could camber actually be part of my problem, or is there any tips for spinning? Sorry if it's a dumb question, as you can tell I don't know a ton about ski technology.

nah, it's a legit question. Hopefully someone who knows a little more about the way skis are built will come in here and straighten things out.

try kind of rocking your weight back and forth from your heels to your toes, seems to help me, so does spinning a 270 on, gives you a lot more momentum

possibly, but look at most pictures of skiers on rails and boxes, there skis are all flexing up. anthems are pretty soft so this may not be a problem. but i really dont know

gah i broke last years invaders doin that, somehow the tail got stuck in something under the rail and my ski popped off, i fell on my ass, and when i got up my ski was stuck in the rail, broken in half and still bouncin up and down like a dam slinky

but to answer your question nah i dont think camber has anything do do with it, just get on the rail and kinda twist your body around like your doin a shifty, but keep goin through 360 or 540 whatever your doin

I find you just have to do it like your spinning regularly, jusdt keep looking over your shoulder, but the last time I did them I was skiing on my pretty much 0 camber PEs

Are we talking about camber underfoot or the whole ski?
If its under foot then it wouldnt really matter since your weight would flatten everything out, but i dont think that implys to the whole ski

i guess it really depends on how wide the box is, a wider box would flatten the camber out. and rocking your weight back and forth will help.

yes, without a doubt

it definately affects it,

not the the point where it should stop you from doing it,

you jjust have to power through it alittle

when i butter boxes i just apply pressure to the leading foot heel and following foot toe to spin around left or vice versa to spin around right.

theres no such thing as buttering on a box.... you can butter on the snow up to the box not on it. spinning down a box is known as a blender and it looks pretty homosexual unless you are switching your momentum through the spin aka pretzel

ive never thought about it but yeah it could make sence for it to make a bit of a difference i dont think it will have a huge effect though

just throw the spin and look over ur shoulder u don thave to be perfecgt since u cant get off axis on a box also once u can spin good switch ups will come fast
