i really want to learn how to 270 out, but whenever i get on the rail, im so concentrated on sliding it well that i like forget to try to spin. whats up with this?

and how did everyone learn switch ups?

you've got to be committed to the trick before you get on the rail... unless the rail is long... Im saying 25-30+ and you have good balance you dont really get on... slide and then think about switching up, you gotta have it in your head as you take off the lip...

1st question: Try remembering, and set ur self up for the spin, either blindside, or opposite. then just pop and spin. shoulders lead, skis will follow

2nd question: by just hitting shit switch. jus do it, and if u fall on the first try, u might see wut u did wrong. and by trying it, u can teach urself. so basically, jus hit jumps switch and spin

yeah for starting out you should wind up a little and pop and spin off the rail. concentrate on the spin off when you get on and think like just sliding the rail is nothing. for learning switchups i started on kinked boxes.

depending wich way u r spining off the rail you lside it diffrent.for example if i am sliding with my left foot forward and i am going to do a left spin out i will slide the rail with my tips facing forwad a bit to help start my rotation. remember its all in the shoulders the rail has no grip to start ur spin. lol i made that mistake the first time i tried spinning out.

i just started learning switch ups and do them on a nice long box. i think if you switch onto it its easier.just keep your momentum going and jump....idk thats just what i do...and if you dont switch onto it just keep your momentum going like before but that way you do a blind 180 around....

In my case it just happened. Depends what way you want to spin off. Blidind side (keep rotating the way you get on). Or what I call frunt side. Spin the opposite way. You have to think about it alot more if you plan to 270 blindside. What I do is when I get on the rail I exeragiate my arms which keeps me kind of tourqued down the rail. At the end I look back and keep my head turned and my body follows. It will take some practice but not too hard. I spin off frunt side do the same thing but think about getting off the rail straight and keep your head turned and there ya go.

ya i think it is nice to learn on a long box with a mellow kink...i learned them blind because it feels better but i guess either way works. i actually find that blind switchups feels like a 270 on. personally id go with the reg on to blind switch up for momentum reasons and sometimes you will 270 out by mistake!

yea i was wondering the same thing too, on boxes, should you start spinning a little before you jump off for the 270?

first of all you need to be able to complete said rail with ease. you should no longer have to think about sliding the rail. while approaching the end of the rail, i tend to bring my left arm up, idk why i just do it. then, depending onn whether im heading blindside or normal, i just look in that direction coming off the rail. trust me. just look over that shoulder and the rest of your body tends to follow.try it.

your momentum should be sliding into the 270 a considerable ammount off of a box...i actually find it easier to spin off rail because spinning off box you need to worry about butter factor. just let it flow into the 270 out a bit and youll be fine.

my first 270 off was like no thought process at all.. i just looked over my uphill shoulder as i was comin off. 270 is such a little rotation it doesnt take much effort... and for switch ups. i learned on a kinked rail we set up in my backyard,, it was easier than i thought
