Spinning Help please!

Just try both and go with whatever way feels more natural/comfortable. Most people spin left-side though.

i dont remember how i decided to spin the way i do. id say do some spins jumping on the ground and see which way feels more natural

i always would just jump in a pool and spin and which ever way felt more natural do it that way but dont think about it... just get ready to spin then huck urself and which ever way u spin is usually ur natural spin direction

Do you jib? I dunno if this holds true for everyone, but the way I approach a rail is the same way I spin... just like finishing the rotation.

if you don't know, that could be a good thing. If both ways feel equally fine/weird, just keep trying both ways. It's good for you!

I'm never really sure which way to spin, 180's are easier right side, anything over that seems more comfortable spinning right but comes around cleaner going left. Sw left is way easier sw than right for me.
Just be a G and spin both ways.

word. i didnt know which way i span switch because i span left but couldnt look over my left shoulder well so i did both. now i am comfortable both ways

This is a great issue to have as was said above. Just spin both ways and get used to both it will save you trouble in the long run. I had this issue with flairs for some reason but it worked out to my advantage.

Just start doing 180s both ways if you have no clue which way you naturally spin make left and right natural it will be harder but will help so much in the long run and once you get it down both ways will feel easy and natural.

All my friends spin left, I spin right. These guys know what's up ^ - since you're just starting, learn both. Chances are one will be stronger than the other though

Thanks to everyone for their input, i am going skiing tomorrow and i will take all of this into consideration. i think i am orientated to the right anyway but i will try left as well.

Thanks, isaac.

Haha that's probably gonna work to your advantage - spinning right natty is more "unique" :P Also, are you left-handed? Just wondering, because I am and spin right natty, while all my friends seem to spin left natty...

Yeah this is really important when your first learning to spin. 360's are way different from 180's. With a 180 you can just kind of turn your feet/skis and your body will follow, with anything over 180 you have to actually look with your head first and then follow through with your shoulders/arms. idk if that makes any sense?

id imagine it similar to finding out if youre goofy or regular, have someone push you from behind, if your right foot steps out, spin left if your left foot steps out spin right, or just spin both ways if it feel comfortable
