i think im wierd...i would much rather spin fast than do a slow smoother spin. whenever i try to make it nice and slow i freak out and die. anyone else have this problem

sure, you dont have to look down and see how high you are, when you spin till you hit you dont really have time to freak out. just kinda tuck up and set it slow, and stay in that tucked spot till you know its time to come around and spot your landing

I am the opposite. can't huck if I try. I can't do anything on a jump smaller than a 40 footer.

i can do both, i like spinning slower though, more control in the air, the harder i throw it the farther backseat i go

oh...im wierd then. i think 540s are easier than 180s

WEll it depends on how u look at it %s are easier to just throw 1s are tough to make look good!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

a lot of people are that way especially once you get better at spins, cuase especially during 180's u arent doing as much in the air so you have more time to actually think about landing and such..when u spin higher and grap longer u are more controlled

oh yeah? well me and my friends have been bathing off the southern coast of st. bards, chilling with spider monkeys. tripping on acid gave us a whole new perspective on shit.

^ i started off that way on the bigger jumps, i just don't even try the spin, i pretty much just pop to the side and tweak.

dude...its so weird..i can spin the fuckin smoothest 1's. but anything over 3 is hucked for me...like i CANNOT make my 3's look good..i pretty much spin 180 and then twist..i can take off cleanly or anything..its PISSING ME OFF HELP

the key is to set the spin and shit on the tranny and then just stay as still and composed in the air as you can, and let inertia do the work for you.

i was skiing this weekend and I figured out that if I'm going to spin big, I pop real hard off the lip. if I'm just doing a 3 or 180, I don't pop at all I just rotate. so maybe trying to just carve a little up the jump will help to set your slow spin. just an idea.

yes; what M1 said. Dont wind up or anything. Sounds like you 'know' how to spin slower, but like you said you freak out. You probably think you're not going to get around all the way before you land, and then you crash anything. just commit. in anything you do commit. I just started spinning 3's this season. I tried them at the end of last season, and almost had it the first 2 tries, then on my 3rd attempt i hucked it wayy to much, over-rotated, and crashed my brains out. So i was kind of afraid to spin anymore, but this year I just dropped into the park, found a nice 25-30 footer, and didn't think about it. I popped a little and started spinning. It was a nice slow, lazy 3 and i stuck it perfectly. Once you stick one, you'll get it.

Ski like you fuck; fast and hard with a stupid grin on your face.

yeah the best advice i can give you (going off of only two years of skiing) is just spin dont think about it and just spin once you start doing it ti'll become habit and itll be super smooth

i keep over spinning my gap 270s on..and i just stop at 3 and i cant bring it around to a 450. do you look down when you spin? that keeps me from freakin out cause i know where i am at all times.
