Spine Pain

Alright, so. For the last month or so I've been getting this super sharp pain in my spine right between my shoulder blades. It's not the kind of pain that is in the muscles on the sides... it's like directly ON my spine. It doesn't particularly hurt when anyone presses on my spine, but holy shit does it hurt when I move my upper back around... to the point where it takes my breath away.

I'm curious if anyone has had this type of pain before and what it ended up being? I feel like if it was some sort of small fracture I would have remembered a time when I injured it and I feel like it would hurt a lot more to the touch...

It hasn't gotten any better though and it's driving me insane.

And yes, I've done the whole chiropractor thing in the past and I know all the things it could be... I'm looking more for feedback from people who've actually had a back injury before.

+++++++++K.

Haha yeahhhh. I know that... My doc is an hour and a half down in Denver and I want to get some more feedback before I drive all the way down there to be told I'm being a fucking pussy.

this. did you do anything to it recently? it could be a disc bulge or possibly even a fracture or something. NS isn't gonna help you though, go to a radiologist.

yeah, get that shit checked out man. better to drive a while to your doctor and play it safe then to fuck up your back even worse

Gosh I knew this was going to happen.

I know I need to go to the doctor, blah blah blah.

I'M NOT LOOKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE.

I'm looking for people who've HAD back injuries/ spinal compression fractures to see if they experienced this type of pain.

u mad bro? calm down dude obviously youre not going to get exactly what you want from NSG.

I had a similar pain just a week or to ago actually, i couldn't ski and could barely get out of bed. I just took it easy for a couple days and used this back massaging pillow my mom has and now its all gone. Time always helps, but i wasn't feeling sharp pain that took my breath away, so i'll also add that a doctor is always a good idea.

Sorry. That came off more mean than I wanted it to. I just made sure to clarify in my original post that I wasn't looking for medical advice (cleary I know I'm not going to get good medical advice on NS) and just wanted to hear from people with actual previous back injuries.

This...
Although I've had a similar pain when I played tennis 24/7 and it became so painful I couldn't bend my neck - it was high up on my spine (between my shoulder blades) and I'd have to bend from the waist to tie my shoes. I don't know what it was though, so I'm not helpful in that sense, but it was probably a pinched nerve because when I took a break from playing it went away (DO NOT MISTAKE THIS FOR WHAT YOU HAVE AND THEN DECIDE NOT TO GO TO A DOCTOR - YOU SHOULD GO TO YOUR DR AND SEE IF IT'S MAJOR OR MINOR AND AN HOUR ISN'T THAT FAR AWAY).

have you had any injuries? id say an injury would be a good "reason" if its spinal its not good. you could have a pinched nerve, or you did something to a muscle cause if you can move and walk without a problem but if its more specific movement then its most likely a some muscle. That or i would say its a slipped disc.

why is ns and every other extreme sport community so retarded when it comes to hurting yourself and then not going to a doctor?
