Spine Compression Fracture?

Im gonna bump this cus last week my i had a line across my back that was a little sore after bowling(lame i know) but yesterday i fucked up and landed on my ass/back and felt the pain pretty strongly and it still hurts to walk today. My mom thinks i may have compressed something but my dad thinks i just strained some muscles. What does doctor NS think?

(ps, im probably going to a doctor tomorrow)

Idk but i fell off a trampoline in the fall and landed on my back and i went to my soccer practice 10 minutes later after it happend but after practice my back felt terrible. I ended up being out for like a solid 2 months and i had to get physical tharpey. I got x-rays and an mri didnt show anything however i got the mri like 1.5 months after the injury. I think just ice it alot no heat and than if it doesnt get any better go see a doc.

why no heat?

Ive been using this heating pad today and its been making it feel a little better. Should i use ice instead?

definately go to a doctor for a real estimate. but for referecne, my spinal fracture took about 3 months to fully heal. depending on how bad yours is you can still hit jumps, but it won't help the healing process and it will hurt like hell.

Well for my injury it was solely on the spine the muscles around it were fine. But as a rule for pretty much any injury first 48 hours ice it than after that you can do a combination. But if u just pulled a muscle than heat prolly wont hurt you; like i said my shit was solely on the bone of my spine.

Funny you should ask. Im recovering from a compression fracture in one of my vertebrae right now. I came up short on 3 at aspen open and the doc just found out from an MRI how serious it is. Pretty much they threw me in a brace that keeps my back straight while it heals and said I'm out for the season. Good news is they said once it heals I'll be full strength and never notice it again. I would definitely get it checked out cause it gets gnarly if it doesnt heal right. Hope that helps

Cheers

I had a relatively minor compression fracture a few years ago and was out for over two months. Make sure to do your physio. I did not and have had recurring back issues as a result.

I just fractured my L4 vertebrae (second one up from the bottom). One orthopeadist wants to do a kyphoplasty which restores the height of the vertebrae that is showing to be slightly compressed with a balloon, then fills the void with a cement or bone graft. The surgery is commonly done on older people with oseoperosis, and for some reason according to my research "not appropriate for young healthy bones, or fractures sustained from an impact." I'm seeking multiple opinions right now from doctors other than surgeons (for some reason surgeons seem to prefer surgery). I'm interested in anyone's experience with the injury? many thanks

yeaaah definitely, its not worth fucking up your entire life for a few months of skiing, take it easy and have some time out, heal up properly, get physio and get healthy

+++vibes
