Spin to Win, or Style for Smiles.

Pretty self explan. you like the whirrly bird 1440 to washout lander, or the steezmongrel 5 to reverse stompstatus? 450 disaster the last 1/4 inch of the rail, or a buttery ass switch frontboard with salt on the pretzel? place your bets.

def style. i would rather see a super slow 3 with a japan or bus driver or soe ill grap than a hucked ten

manly, maybe... but one might argue that a 1440 is harder than a 540, and argue competently. the question is, what would you rather be good at, throwing down the most wild and crazy kenieval shit, or some straight shyne po shit. steeze, or cheese.

Spin to win is fucking stupid. That's why the Air and Style comp is sweet, they have a "style run" where you cant do anything over a 5.

wut if u can make that 1440 super stylie, well not likely but how about a stylie 10 and if the rail is long enough ive seen some of the most stylish 450s on ever

Nothing, NOTHING will ever come to the awesomeness that can be a stylish backside 180. THey are the sickest looking things ever. Especially a slow one over a huge gap.

gotta be the style. which is why i think theres so much shaun white hating in snowboarding right now.

i bet a lot of people will disagree with me but i think shaun white has good style. for anyone who went to/watched the US open, his stalefish 5's were awesome. although chas gouldemond should have won the slopestyle

i cant think of anyone who can throw a textbook spin like shaun white. it may not ooze of steeze, but he has his own unique style where everything is just the way it needs to be.

oh definitely... watch revenge of the grenerds... danny kass's fs 270 into the pipe to back to back 10s is in it, and that looks sooo steezy, and also rahm klampert throws a massive 1260 that looks ridiculously sick.

Yep, his 1260 was pretty sweet. But the backcountry one he threw in Smell the Glove was balls. It was so ugly.

word. X games have gotten to be meh over the years. Someone will have a sick run and the announcers will be like " it was nice but there should be tens and spins" and what not

spinning a 10 with style is arguably harder than a 5 with style, but i agree, id rather see 4 diff spins in 4 diff directions than a few 9s and 10s and like..450 disasters

no i mean other pros i watched him at the open and it looks like hes honestly not trying at all, it looks like hes even holding back alot i think he could probably do a 1260 smoothly

people can do big spins smooth, but a smooth 12 will never look as smooth as a steezy 5. its just not possible, theres too much rotation.

this is like the chicken and the egg question. style vs. progression whats better. who wants to watch a 1260 whirlybird true but who wants to watch every single am throw a bs 5 mute eighty times in every video. for me it comes down to this, riding on the hill i would rather see people throwing down the dope steez but in movie parts style is so stock that pros have to do step their game up to get noticed and this is easiest with progression. i have watched a lot of snowboard vids and i enjoy seeing something new style is just a bonus

STYLE all the way

but... I bid on the super stylish and slow 1440 off of a cliff then pull the chute!.. thats how u make a 1440 have style.

I completely agree. When you and your boys are throwing down, having a sesh, style is super sick, but in videos where you have a few months to come up with 4 minutes of tricks and lines, you'd better step it up a notch.
