alright i've got some serious shin splints, they were hurtin pretty bad the other day, and it had been about five days since i had last skied. i could live with it most the time, but when i do certain things it makes it hurt bad enough that it almost isn't worth it to ski, and that's pretty damn painful. the question i have for you guys, is if anyone else has had this and what they have had success with to help their situation, or anything from anyone who has an idea. thanks in advance for the help. later.

1) get the rossi soft bot 3 2) land switch on jump for a while (like he said , it really does help) and 3) stretch your ankles out before skiing, it will help stretch out your shins

^ Or you can solve any more shinbang and increase your ability to turn and carve and buy those booster straps.

shin splints and shin bang are two different things... but thanks for coming out. neways, what you need to do, is ice your calf muscles, get a bucket fill it with ice and cold water, and fill another bucket with hot water. keep your legs in each bucket for about a minute, then switch to the next bucket. do that after physical activity. another on-hill remedy you could try would be to wrap your calf muscles in tensor bandage very tightly. a shin splint is when your calf is swollen and wants to pull away from your shin bone, due to rapid growth or over exertion, so take a few days off, transition bath them, and if you have to go skiing, tensor your calfs, so that your muscle stays connected to your legs.

I-money, bad shin bang leads to shin splints. Strecthing or pressure on those muscles is what we call shin bang and when those muscles get enough pressure applied to them, they do swell leading to shin splints.

ahhhh.. i get them really bad and i went to my local race bootguy and had him put in a layer of neoprine on the tongue and it helps a ton.. if its still bad a double lay is really nice .. .good luck :)

well to get rid of shin splints you can do one of 2 things, ice it a lot, or to get rid of it fast, ultrasound, like what they do to look at babys, i had shin splints from cross country 2 years ago my podiatrist thought i had a stress fracture, but after 3 ultrasounds in 1 week i was fully healed!

'what?' Lauren every time you ask her a question for the first time!

You can stretch them out by standing on the edge of the stairs and leaning back. Also tap your foot alot. It does something to build up the muscle.

booster straps are gods, hard to find, but some places have them.

if you case it or land backseat on tables then it will start to happen

I was at camp last year and i had them pretty bad. Some of the pros there told me some things and one said to shave my legs. Does that work or is it just a myth?

thanks you guys

you can also try prevention by working those muscles when you get better. try walking only on your heels while curling your toes upwards, i.e. the balls of your feet should not touch the ground. you'll feel it burn in the muscles that run up and down your shinbone.

shin bang happens on the front of your legs, and your calfs are on the side/back of your legs. shin splints affect your calfs therefore shinbang can lead to shinsplints.

'I was on the right side of the bar, and Tanner came up. He seemed like he was pretty drunk,' Schoenbein said. 'He started yelling off stupid stuff about rap. Our manager said, 'We're done playing music.' He started saying, 'Do you know who I am?' and that kind of thing. We knew who he was right away, and we were extremely polite to him. It kind of went from there. He started poking our manager, and his buddy was about to hit someone with a bottle. We restrained them because they were violent.'
