Spider expert needed

I just said there was a chance it wasn't. He is definitely more qualified than me to ID it.

Am I the only one that would think it would be kinda cool to se a black widow up close? Maybe I would change my mind if I did actually see one..

That picture was close enough for me. When I "killed" it I was not about to touch it and put it in the bag. I was worried it wasn't dead. Maybe because it wasn't. But It was cool once I got it in the bag and away from biting range.

Obvious troll is obvious, but that looks like a tarantula, which are completely harmless.

I visited my uncle this weekend and he's pretty into spiders, hes owns a few, and he said that there are really no lethal spiders in NA. He mentioned the brown recluse and said usually they live in SA. He also said they literally will chase you if they see you. Can anybody confirm?

This. Brown Recluses look different, and do a lot more damage when you get bitten by one. That looks like a wolf spider...which is pretty much harmless.

never kill a spiderbro

at least ya'll dont live in florida we have wood spiders the size of and open hand. and op definitely not a brown recluse. if bitten by a recluse your skin in the area goes numb and the tissue dies and the spider eats away as the tissue dies and people dont even know they are bitten until they look some look like they have a buck shot in their leg.

Those are harmless i see those all over the place around me. You can actually pick them up pretty cool little guys.

not a spider fan here but just wanted to chime in that not all brown recluse spider bites end up in huge wounds... a lot of bites go unnoticed in the sense that people never think twice about what bit them (and they didnt realize it was a brown recluse) and the bite gets better fairly uneventfully.

yes, wolf spider. use to get some in my garage but my cats took care of them. Mini hockey stick is definitely the weapon of choice, or if you are a bit more frightened you can hit that motherfucker with the lysol.

in northern VA I get tons of these centipedes, been in an ongoing war for 4 years.

Motherfuckers use to be everywhere when I first moved in (new house) but there numbers have dwindled. Use to see 3 or 4 per week, now maybe 3 or 4 per month. Season is starting up again soon, so the first one since the fall last week, safe to say, that ass hole didnt last more than 30 seconds in my sight. BAM hit that motha fucker with a hockey stick.

you scared me when you said beer can, i hate spiders. Also, unless your like in cali or new mexico or something, the odds of the spider being venomous are very low.

You'd all be fucked in Australia. I'm just going to add a huntsman to the mix, they are super common.

Also, nice spider b.utters$ yeah Australia.

Does anyone else think this is cool as fuck? Like if I had this thing an knew I was going to survive I would scare the shit out of people all day. Plus you can say you got bit by a spider and essentially had a huge hole in your thumb. I guess i'm weird as fuck.
