Spider expert needed

So last summer we moved into this brand new house and I started seeing those spiders in my bathroom. Im not super scared of them but they are really big and im seriously started to wonder if they are actually dangerous since I just saw 2 more , much bigger ones in my room.
I got stung last year on my leg while sleeping, it got really swollen but it was gone after a few days.

Bit? I don't think spiders sting.

And maybe just a wolf spider.

Get a cat, or a monitor lizard.

They'll eat them.

Plus then you have a monitor.
 
As I am not the largest fan of those eight legged bastards I would suggest enacting scorched earth plans on a one mile radius of your house and fleeing from the menace of that thing.
 
those things are in my house too. unfortunately, they don't leave and as long as they are not infesting your house you should be fine. If they bite you then you could have some issues but they are huge pussies and I find that they are mostly a seasonal kind of thing. when you start to see them more frequently I would keep all blankets, clothes etc off the floor to avoid one sneakin in there and biting you again. If they are all over right now then give it a few weeks to a month and they will be far and few in between (at least from my experience). I usually catch em by putting a plastic cup over them then sliding a piece of paper under the cup, followed by a flush or if I am feeling benevolent then I would release them outside where they would die anyways since they are house spiders. hope this helped and good luck!
 
But weren't Brown Recluses also the ones that can destroy the cell structure of what they bite? If you're pretty sure, then GSPhotography, go to the doctor right now.
 
That's not true. A short trip to Wikipedia tonight told me that they're all over the Midwest and in areas of California and southern Oregon. Shit is expanding very slowly
 
Yea but i live on the east coast of canada.I looked at those gnarton, house spider, looks about rite, im gonna clean my room with javel tmrw.
 
it looks like a wolf spider. those fuckers get pretty big, and look pretty gnarly, but are for the most part harmless. i HIGHLY doubt its a brown recluse based on the fact that you still have a hand. those things are nasty.

and i couldn't be a bigger pussy when it comes to spiders. omg, i fucking hate those things. i have a pet snake, and am totally cool with shit like that, but a spider will make me scream like a 13 year old girl. fuck.
 
Definitely not a recluse it looks like a wolf spider. Look for any areas in your house where they could be getting in and spray some stuff that will keep them out.

Seriously though I would flip shit if I saw one of those in my house.
 
I live in Northwestern PA and we get Browns. Espically down on boats. Guy on my dock got bite last summer and his hand was gigantic. Had to go get his hand drained three times a week. Worst of all I work on boats so I come across them every now and then. However, fish love eating spiders so I just flip them into the water.
 
if its a recluse you would have been severely fucked. so i wouldnt worry about that

I'm generally okay with spiders depending on size. House spiders don't freak me out, but that sucker would scare the shit out of me.
 
Na man. I have two friends who have been bit in Ontario by them. One ended up getting flesh eating from the bite and almost had to have her leg amputated.

Definitly a hobo spider. They are venomous but not fatal to humans. Their bites cause blisters and they are most commonly found in the northwest
 
Sketchy bite, I'd say wolf spider though. I think I have some of those living in my bushes in front of my house. They build big funnel webs. If its not that I really want to know what it is

dammit i didnt know those things lived in Canada, unless theyre related to the dock spiders i see in Muskoka (look similar).

if so theyre harmless but still freaky looking.

its a good test of mastering your emotions!
 
i think we can all agree that at least we dont live in Australia, theyve got some spiders that dont fuck around.

For the record, I'm MUCH better about killing spiders now that I've lived on my own forever. But that beast?! Fuck that, I'd move out.
 
Find these things in my house weekly. Not a huge fan. I wouldn't worry about it though, they won't kill you. The thing I hate is when I see baby spiders...cause you know there's more.
 
Definately a hobo spider.

On a related note: These spiders are so small compared to the ones I would see at over night camp in the northern woods of wisconsin. Regularly we would get spiders the size of your hand in our shoes and down by the docks. I would fucking jump on top of a bed whenever I saw them or just book it in the other direction. They were also fast as fuck which made them 10x scarier.

Ahhh fuck, I thought living in the north-east would prevent me from having to deal or worry about spiders like that. FFFUUUU
 
another reason why i am soooo happy i live in colorado. fuck spiders. i hate them so much. i ususally just get rid of them with a can ok axe and a lighter. let them burn but yes i hate spiders.

 
Well clearly Aragog is living near you and the babies are hungry. The chamber might be open I would not recommend going back to Hogwarts this year.
 
the red spot on it's body makes me want to say it's a black widow, but i'm no spider specialist. i don't know what part of the country you live in and if any other spider exists with similar markings. i wouldn't take a chance though. i'd take an aerosol can of hairspray and a lighter right to that fucker and burn it to death.
