So im driving home from college the other day on roads i don't know very well, i come to an open road strait away and speed up i see a 30mph sign and realize i should slow down right then i see a cop infront of me on the side of the road i knew i was going to fast so i get pulled over doing 52 in a 30 its a 6 point speeding violation and a max 300 dollar fine(im in new york and i looked up the penalty). I have court this thursday, i was just wondering if anyone eles had a similar experience and could let me know how it turned out.

Spark notes: new york speeding ticket 52 in 30, 6 point violation, $300 fine, town cop, not state trooper. anyone know if it will get reduced and if similar story what was the outcome.

It depends on your history... i got one for a 68 in a 55 and got it reduced to rolling a stop sign because i hadnt ever gotten any tickets before. You might want to get a lawyer... sometime they can atleast get the points taken away... good luck and drive more careful...
 
That sucks, I got puled over last night. Thankfully I got out of it, because the kid who pulled me over went to high school with me.
 
oh dang that blows.

i got called out for reckless driving cause i fish tailed in a neighborhood.

went to court got a lawyer.

they reduced it to speeding and now were going to jury trial cause they were going to add 3 points and a $150 fine.

the lady that said i was speeding cant prove i was speeding so i will win for sure.

did the cop use that little radar gun thingy to check your speed?

 
reschedule your court date and hope the cop doesn't show up. If he does show, beg the judge or moderators for a reduction of the points. I once got 6 points all dropped but still had to pay the fine.
 
is it mandatory to go to court? or are you choosing to go...

i got a buddy who got a speeding ticket like a 10mph over one, and he said he wanted to go to court to get it ereased off his record...they put him on 6 months probation instead of paying the fine...he got pulled over 4 months into that and got fucked...i'd just pay the fine.
 
I got pulled over for the first time last friday for going 54 in a 40 (same thing the cop was going the opposite direction) , but only got a warning, luckily considering since i am under 18 I get my license taken away for 6 months if I get a ticket.

And k+ for real to anyone who had positive input, thanks for your stories guys well see what happens on thursday. I will definetly pay the fine i just hope it gets dropped to a lower violation.

my dad got a speeding ticket today for going 65 in a 55, not even using a radar gun, the cop clocked the speed. what a fucking douche
