So i get a Ticket a week ago, 71 in a 55

16 over and my mom notices on the ticket that the cop wrote my dads name on the defendants name space instead of mine, does that mean any thing?

ive heard that if the cop fills the ticket out wrong you get off free. this ever happen to any one else. any input woudl be great thanks.

well how old are you, cause if youre under 18, maybe he wrote your dads name cause he needs to write your guardian down

I think you're off dude. The ticket should be written out in your name whether you're 18 or not. Any mistakes in a ticket constitute it being thrown out of court...you lucky fuck.

ill give you your skis back if you get off free. unless youll let me keep them. either way ill be happy

haha i appreciate that dude, but im not out of the clear yet,

and cooks how do you know that about the tickets? are you sure that any problem with the ticket and its void?

The ticket is no longer legally reprehencible if there is an error like that on it. If they mess up things like your name, the location of the ticket, make/model of the car, or plate numbers it can't be held up in court. If you were to fight it you would win for sure.

You should probably talk to someone who knows something about this before you do anything. Talk to your insurance company or lawyer maybe.

the ticket is given to the person who made the offense and even if you are under 18 your dads still shouldnt be on the ticket i think off the hook man your lucky

You are off, you got extremely lucky, they cannot make a ticket out to anyone except the person accused. The only way you could possibly lose on this case is if you actually admitted before the judge to doing it. You're off on a technicality because although its the law not to speed, its also the law for officers to write out tickets correctly. I got a ticket way back like that but much more minor (no helmet on a bike if you can believe that bullshit). So I told the officer a bullshit name and when it arrived at our house we said no one lived here by that name so they threw the ticket out and I saved myself 90 dollars. Not the same scenario but similar.

Hahaa, holy shit. Cops actually enforce that law? I've ridden right past cops without a helmet on and they don't give a shit.
