Speeding ticket had wrong information.

i got a $200 speeding ticket going skiing the other day (plus it was raining and there was no snow and 10 trails open. it was awesome). i have a 2002 buick rendezvous. on my ticket it says i was driving a 2002 honda van. because he fucked up this ticket, is there any way i can null it or am i just hoping for the impossible.

You're lucky as hell, last time I got a speeding ticket I took it to court, but then the cop showed up and I got screwed.

well how do i go about nullifying my ticket? my friend suggested calling the number on the back of the ticket, but why would they just let me free? i don't think it's a good idea to just not pay, because then if they do figure something out (seeing as they have my drivers liscense on file i'm sure), then i'd be fucked.

go to the court date and show them the ticket, they have to let you off. you have a undisputable case.

Ya, I've had the cop enter the wrong info before. Only thing you can really do is show up to court. None of the people you call can help you out.

well i live like 3 hours away from vermont and the cost of gas alone would probably fuck me over. is it really worth taking the 2 points of my liscense in vermont, or should i just pay.

call and say that it is to far for you to make it and that you need to meet at a court closer to you, they will probably either let go of the ticket then and there or some one will come meet you and u show them they have the wrong info and u dont pay anything, either way its win-win for you!

Are you joking me! Maybe this is just a west coast thing but over here insurance companies will fucking rape you for a speeding ticket. You definitly need to go to court and get that shit removed.

you definatley can't get it easily removed, but i have good news, i just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico

ya they might move it as close as the can without taking it out of vermont(it sounds like thats where it happened) so then you would need to go up there but it will help your insurance in the long run. You MIGHT be able to state your case if you call. Tell them you dont own a Honda and they might tell you your off the hook. Its Worth a Try.

I've heard that if the cop writes it up wrong you are off scott free, even if it is unrelated, however in WA, its bullshit.

I've gone the rounds in the courts over petty stupid bullshit tickets, (neglegent driving for chirping my tires at a light first time driving a manual, changing lanes without signaling, and going 30 in a 25) and my moms work provies free lawyers for its employees and there dependants, and he is a pretty reputable lawyer, and he said that most rumors you here like that are bullshit. The cop wrote one of mine wrong but he was like trust me you won't get off for that, it's not even a legit argument, nor is it a technicality that will get you off. So we fought it through a different argument, and we won. but trust me dude just pay the 100 bucks and consult a lawyer

if you end up paying it...send in a couple of bucks more than the ticket. They'll send you a check back with the extra money, but as long as you don't take it back (ie cash the check), you won't get points on your liscense. This is coming from my pa, who's sure had a hell of a lot of speeding tickets. I've never personally tried it, but a few extra bucks isn't bad, right?

Every night before I go to sleep

Find a ticket, win a lottery,

Scoop the pearls up from the sea

Cash them in and buy you all the things you need.

Every night before I rest my head

See those dollar bills go swirling 'round my bed.

I know they're stolen, but I don't feel bad.

I take that money, buy you things you never had.

Oh, baby, it would mean so much to me,

Oh, baby, to buy you all the things you need for free.

I'll buy you a jet plane, baby,

Get you on a higher plane to a jet stream

And take you through the stratosphere

And check out the planets there and then take you down

Deep where it's hot, hot in Arabia, babia, then cool, cold fields of snow

And we'll roll, dream, roll, dream, roll, roll, dream, dream.

When we dream it, when we dream it, when we dream it,

We'll dream it, dream it for free, free money,

Free money, free money, free money, free money, free money, free money.

Every night before I go to sleep

Find a ticket, win a lottery.

Every night before I rest my head

See those dollar bills go swirling 'round my bed.

Oh, baby, it would mean so much to me,

Baby, I know our troubles will be gone.

Oh, I know our troubles will be gone, goin' gone

If we dream, dream, dream for free.

And when we dream it, when we dream it, when we dream it,

Let's dream it, we'll dream it for free, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money,

Free money, free money, free money, free.

why the fuck do you drive a buick rendevous? Are you black or are you 85? If I had to drive a buick reauindeauveuiau I would drive it right off of a cliff.

how do I need to get over myself, am I boasting myself up or saying that I am cool? NO - You can't even figure out where to mount your own skis so SHUT THE FUCK UP BITCH.

I wouldn't just assume that you're off scott free. If i were you i'd definitely check the vin and the liscence plate number to see if they match up. Just because he wrote the wrong car might not matter if the points are still added to your record because of your vin and plate.

yea, right? plus, it was my dad's car. sadly, he lost 85% of his vision, giving me his car (i'd rather give up every material possession i have and can get my hands on to have his vision back...), so why not drive it?

^ see that is much better than "oh I went to the dealership and bought it for myself" - perfectly legit answer I would drive it too if it was given to me.

Call the D.A.'s office and let them look at it and call you back, most likely they will tell you not to even come out or to sign a plea saying 0 points 0 dollars so the cops record stays clean with no mistakes, just get the wheels turning and you might save some gas.

i got a ticket wrote up with the wrong name and adress and shit but my car. i havent seen anything on my insurance or anything but that's a little different from your case

well i know that if they spell one letter in ur name wrong then you don't have to pay it because you claim it isn't you, and there is nothing they can do..so im sure that would be the same....because if it wasn't your car...it wasn't you.
