speed for urban shit?

So i just got back from attempting a rail that had no inrun. we tried everything i know to get speed, build a mound of snow, standed on a box, had my friends pull my polles, propped the box up higher and tried that. but i could never get enough speed

anyone have any tips on getting speed for rails?

 
well i don';t know what the rail was like, but the pole whip has never failed me...

are you building your jumps to the side of the rail and smaller than the rail? because that matters with speed.

^ very true, depending how far away from the rail you are when you start, get two people to run and then slingshot you by the wrists.

^ yeah, i've dropped into rails using nothig but a 2 foot tall plastic kicker and a skimboard, no snow

i built a 6ft drop in with special carpiting so ive never ran into speed issues
