This guy and the entire GoPro team of athletes never fails to amaze me, and this latest release using the newest Hero3 is absolutely spectacular from start to finish....whales, seriously!!! Notice Tom did his 1st Heli trip to the steeps of NZ, like a boss! Oh, and TURN UP THE VOLUMN!

 
Very sick. Great editing. The sound of the music became more distant whenever the camera entered the top of the wave while surfing.
 
the mountain bike clip where he's riding on that tight rope esque setup is insane. also the kayaking... it just gets me every time.
 
That was pretty cool to watch. So did Kislevitz direct the whole thing or just shoot the snow parts? Curious as to his role with the video because I can't find it anywhere.
 
That was unreal, and was so beautiful, so magnificant, I actually got teary eyed! This entire edit just gives me goose bumps from start to finish. I don't know what part was my fav., as all the activities were so thrilling. The biker at 1:30, on that skinny swaying bridge was ahhhsome. The surf shots were incredible. Loved how the music faded in the underwater scenes. So much win in this!!

That was literally the only bit I disliked haha, thought it was really cool all the gyro helmet mounts they're using, never thought it'd look that good but it works, that mountain bike drop is insane, first mtb thing that's ever impressed me, and yeah the whales bit was pretty awesome, made me think how do they know the whales not just gonna eat them haha. Also anyone notice how much slater looks like abe?
 
Start scuba diving, things like this happen every day when you dive.. in the right places of course.

There is nothing that touches interacting with large animals underwater in my mind, it's the most surreal, serene, majestic thing on this planet.
 
I question the idea of a hero 3 being used in every single shot. Especially when some shots look less fish eye distorted, I am also basing this off of the fact that in the surfing parts you can clearly see people filming with cameras that aren't gopros. I would say that it's an edit made by go pro not entirely with them.
 
the parts without distortion may well just be ones shot at 2.7k and then cropped, I can't imagine they'd film without gopros, you can make a good enough edit with a gopro if you can get it to exposure correctly, and they have so many that they get enough correctly exposed shots.
 
I love GoPro, but I will never be able to squeeze this kind of quality out of any of their products ever... Sick products nonetheless though, rigging mine up for a warbird flight soon :D
 
Gopro3 has a new lens with less barrel distortion. More of an ultra wide angle than a fisheye now. And you can select the field of view when recording if you want a more narrow shot
 
Yes indeed.. however those sounds were probably from a sound clip because a gopro certainly can't pick up noise that clearly underwater lol.
 
top comment right now: Disclaimer: This video was filmed, processed and edited by top professionals, your own personal GoPro HERO3 videos will never look this good. Your footage will most likely be shaky, annoying to watch, have a bad angle, will have terrible sound because you forgot to use the open back, edited with minimal effort in iMovie, overly compressed because you don't understand export settings and you probably aren't even doing anything cool.

Hey guess what. Abe told me THEY ARE the sounds from those whales caught on the gopro! How cool is that!

Haha thanks guys! Yes this was a fun project indeed. Did you guys know Tom had never been in a heli before?? Crazy. Anyway we had a big team of help for this so I can't take full credit. I helped direct and shoot the mountain biking and ski segments. Had to be back at HQ to help engineering with camera tuning otherwise I'd be more involved in the shooting and directing. Myself and one other at Gopro were lead editors and pretty much put the whole thing together. We also produced that track with Overwerk alongside editing ! Super cool but scary thought to edit for 2 weeks without a song. I was also in charge of all of the post production (coloring and effects) . Oh and yes it was all filmed on the GoPro black I can promise you all that for sure. It's a sick little camera for sure.
 
I DID know this was Tom's 1st Heli adventure, props to him, and I'm sure there will be more to come! What a thrill for him!

I've watched this,and shared it countless times.You and all the people envolved in this production did an outstanding job!! How many views now.......almost 4 million!!! Crazy

Oh and I Love Overwerk's unique sound! was wondering if They made that song exclusively for your edit because it is PERFECT!! Such a powerful beat/sound for a powerful and thrilling edit. Got it downloaded,along w/Odyssey and The Nth, so I can blast it in the car!

One more thing. I THINK THIS IS WORTHY OF AN ORANGE NAME!! I thought you were orange already.
