Ok, so all of a sudden my computer speakers arnt working, my computer doesnt even ecknowledge and audio device, ive un plugged them and put them back in and its not working. They were working perfectly fineyesterday and just today they stopped.

any ideas??

call your computer service support thing. talk to some asian guy for 2 hrs. and get it figured out. my guess is something with your registry and the install for speaker drivers wasn't correct...

Listen I have a mac as well and love it, but you are being a little too smug.

Macs ad PC's use the same hardware, and if his sounds card is broken its not the os fault.

if his audio card broke, having a mac would not be any better, mac's have audio cards, video cards, etc, just like any other computer, if fact it might be even worse because of the way the casing for most macs are much harder to get off, and much harder to fix if the problem is hardware.

Right click on My Computer. Go to Properties. Click Device Manager. Find your Sound Devices. Find your sound card, if the device is there. Whether it is or isn't, try and find out what kind of sound card you have. Look up updated drivers online, download them, and install them. That should fix it, if not, your card is probably dead.

And I hope you covered all the obvious bases first. Like, you are sure you don't have your speakers muted through your computer?

try my computer, then control panel, printers and other hardware, add hardware, there should be some setup thing popping up, click next, click yes ive connected the hardware. there should be a list. scroll to the bottom and click add a new hardware device (its last), then click install the hardware manually from a list, click on sound and video game controllers and on the right there should be something called Legacy Audio Drives. click on it, then click next, and just keep clicking next. thats what fixed my problems

hmm, did you look at porn, then go to ctrl + alt + delete to delete any viruses that would be in your processes folder, go deleting random things and one of them happpened to be your sound card driver, did you ??

casue i did that like a week ago, and im pissed.

yea its been happening to me for like 2 montha on and off now. i tend to find that when I restart my computer everything is fine then randomly it will stop again.

this includes trying to plug in headphones
